Almost a year after news that Square Enix announced the remake of the classic RPG "Finsl Fantasy VII", news broke out that a Broadwsy musical is in the works. Here's the words from the musicals producer, John Imafake:

"It's got the potential to be the next big thing on Broadway when it hits a year from today. We're talking about something along the lines of "Phantom of the Opera" or " Les Miserables". If you've played the game, it's like a novel. It's got adventure. It's got comedy. It's got tragedy. It's got characters good and bad that you'll never forget. The sets are currently being worked on and it's like nothing you've ever seen on stage before. From the "Blade Runner" like Midgar to the hellish interior of the Northern Crator", it will draw you in.

Now wondering how singing and action will work, Mr Imafake had these words to say:

"When you look at it, fighting can be done with dancing and singing. We're looking at actors who can do Cloud Strife, Vincent Valentine, and Sephiroth like you've never seen them before. And for the fanboys out there, we're looking for an actress who can play Tifa Lockhart to the T. She's got to look great, but she must also kick ass. Even the SJWs will approve because she's a strong female role model. And for singing, expect her to be like Pat Benatar with martial arts moves".

Then came the subject of Aerith Gainsborough. Here's Mr. Imafake's words on that:

"Aerith is of course a tragic figure, but she also gives a glimmer of hope in a brutal world. The first act of the play will deal with her death at the hands of Sephiroth. Like in the game, there won't be any dry eyes in the house. But remember, she also holds the key to stopping Meteror even after her death. As for the way she's going to be portrayed in the musical, she can be happy, yet sad since she's the last of her race. Cloud cares for her, and when her death comes, it will give a lasting impression on the audience".

And now for the rest, like Chocbos and all the classic monsters:

"Of course there's going to be Chocobos. We've got an ostrich trainer, so it gonna all work well in the end. But what I'm looking forward to the most are Emerald and Ruby Weapons. There are going to tower over the actors and fill most of the stage".

Now wondering how this is all going to come together, Mr Imafake has these cryptic words to say:

"SLOOF LIRPA".

Well it was my April Fools hoax for this year, and it's not the first time I did a hoax based on FFVII. Last year, I did a AFJ about a "Doctor Who/FFVII" crossover. Now if I want to see something based on FFVII, I'd love to see a theme park attraction. Square did the " Kingdom Hearts" games for Disney, so maybe an FF themed dark ride at the Disney parks in Tokyo (Disney Seas would be perfect since its attractions seen to cater more to thrill seekers than to kids) may not seem too far fetched.
