crunchyroll stop being dictator when people discuss about how you lack anime content. We know there a lot of good anime out there, and we know it not on your website. I enjoy a subscription with you because you actually license and support the animes unlike other sites. I need an answer what does your company lack in getting better anime. Why is so hard for you to get good anime contracts from Japan. I know you partly own by Tv tokyo which is a major anime production in Japan. So this should allow for better access to better anime but it not. Hey if you need help with the business let me take a look at business politics and maybe I can solve it for you. Maybe I can help with your subscription base and make you more money. If you don't do something soon, I think hulu may beat you because I talk with one of their representatives and they are potentially may invest more money in anime and netflix might do the same thing.

Same reasons Netflix & Amazon Prime charge more now & keep adding/removing content, streaming rights cost $€£¥

Crunchy, does have a lack of catalog, if you look at the whole. If you consider, that they pay for there shows, while others do not, a few hundred titles, is just as enjoyable as a few thousand. They usually get the new anime I want to watch.

I counted 30 currently airing anime this season (spring). 30 shows is nothing to sneeze at. I will choose 8 or 9 of them to watch maybe a few catalog shows if i'm off for a couple of days in a row and thats worth the subscription to me.

Yeah Crunchyroll made up for their admitted dearth of content considerably with this season, and since they grabbed Berserk too, hopefully that'll hold through the Summer.

they did?
but yeah most of them are quite expensive like most media stuff now, but giving deals and having connections allways help more then just "buying stuff".

Oi, where to start. First of all, huh? I am not sure you understand the economy, much less business practices. The fact of the matter is that licensing is something that goes to the bidder based on certain market expectations and how the buyer will use the content, how they will gain more viewers, and how they will sell the shows advertised. In the United States, and I am sure elsewhere too, we have Neilson Rating Systems which conducts viewership polls based on the watched per capita basis. In other words there is a program that monitors what you watch and then sends the data back to the company. This is where ratings come from. People viewing and distribution. We see Netflix and Hulu commercials all the time. I see maybe one Crunchyroll commercial out there in the time before this? It is still making itself known to the public. This is also a NICHE audience. We watch anime, K or J dramas, and read manga. That is the limitation. Funimation has been around for years, is more familiar, and will get the content until Crunchyroll's rep goes up. Hulu and Netflix have a much larger, broader audience with WAY DIFFERENT CONTENT WHICH DRAWS THEM INTO OTHER NICHES. It is sad that you are feeling this way when you cant even determine that the networks and providers you have mentioned are not competing with Hulu or Netflix at least not on the same level as Funimation and Crunchyroll. You will have issues in the future if you go in blind, thinking that the world is flat or black and white like you have just done.

That's true.

Crunchy has like 80% of all the things I wanted to watch this coming season! It's so great.

Hohoho! Crunchyroll is greedy this time around, & I love it!

welp, I just checked what they bagged for spring. maybe 2/3 I'd actually watch even though the site will be packed with lots of new stuff. they still have a huge back catalogue, and they had the first run of titan it's not that the site lacks content, just for some people it lacks good content since the content creators in japan pander to what's often popular in japan - that translates to the west as trash. at least half the good shows are also licensed to bigger groups like funi before crunchy can do anything, usually by licensing the IP before it actually airs

CR also has licenses for Naruto, One Piece, Fairy Tail, Bleach, Gintama, Hitman Reborn, Kenshin, HxH, JoJo and i'm sure I missed some. Holding these licenses is going to cost a pretty penny or two and I am sure some people wouldn't mind a few of them be dropped for some more good 12 or 24 ep series but CR have done the math, they are some of their more popular shows so why would they risk money on something that might be popular as well as risk their relationship with the Japp licensor for these series.

I am pretty satisfied with what they have been picking up lately as well, if anything it has been getting better imo.

I've gone back to waiting for physical media. All I know is since 2012 when I first subscribed I've gone from watching several shows per season and episodes the day they come out down to nothing.
