Episode 3

The evidence is pretty convincing against Maya, but Phoenix manages to convince Edgeworth to suspend the trial for a day to investigate. He figures out that Redd White of Bluecorp is the one who murdered her sister as he blackmails others and secretly digs up some shady things, which is why Grossberg pulled out of the trial. And while Maya has been acquitted, now Phoenix is under suspicion. That was just twisted there, and seeing White manipulate the judicial system like that to cover his tracks, that's really twisted. But in any case, that was poorly put together, and I think I'll just watch the rest of this trial before calling it quits.

The court etiquette continues to be laughably ridiculous, and I'll continue to let it slide because anime.

To everyone who hasn't played the games and is talking about how ridiculous the courtroom proceedings are:

You haven't seen nuffin' yet.

I just saw the first episode. I'd rate it 6.5 out of 10. Was okay, but at the same time was kinda weird how they act in the court room. Like... still scratching my head how people can laugh inside a courtroom even if it's something as serious as murder that's being talked about.

The show is based off the game(s). And to my understanding the Game(s) itself is also a visual novel of sorts.

The arrest in episode 3 made no sense whatsoever; the police are not going to arrest someone on a "he did it" accusation, the detective is not in his pocket - even for anime this makes no sense.

Seconding this. The justice system from the Ace Attorney games is ... whack-a-doo, to say the least.

But I will also say that you do get used to it.

Its supposed to be because the original game was a parody of Japan's court system.

An over-reliance on witness testimonies, no juries, bumbling cops, and a high rate of prosecutions...Japan had been pretty fucked. Things are better now (juries got formally implemented a couple of years ago) but either way...yeah if you thought the American justice system is horribly broken, that's nothing.

This is actually getting pretty interesting. the evidence get's rushed and testimony comes out of nowhere sometimes, but they do have to squeeze things into 22-25 minute episodes. Quite enjoying this show.

Episode 4

Phoenix himself is now on the hot seat. White same things happening through the window, but Phoenix sees a contradiction where the glass stand fell couldn't be seen from the outside. So while Phoenix wasn't there at the crime scene when it happened, there is the wire tapping device that has gotten Phoenix backed into a corner. Then Maya uses her psychic powers telling Phoenix to look at the receipt with Maya's name written in blood using the date of the receipt to turn the tide, while Maya got a confession out of White by threatening to out the people White blackmailed. What really happened is that Mia was onto White's shady activities, and he murdered her to keep silent about it. Well, seeing Mia's spirit take control of Maya to help identify the real culprit was cool, but other than that the trial was dragged on.

So with that, I finished the trial and I wasn't going to watch any more of this show beyond it.

Episode 4

And that, ladies and gentlemen, ends the Turnabout Sister arc!

The CG use for the jurors is really killing me right now. I mean, they couldn't take time to quickly hand-draw them? Well, it is A-1, and they are doing a lot of anime, so there's that.

It was also good to see Maya get her part in the case by bringing her sister back for the defense. Looks like Wright has his own office now. On to the next part!

Episode 4

This episode was fine.

My only gripe is, why did Mia look sad when her murderer confessed to killing her and blackmailing all those people?
So OOC.

Can't wait for the Steel Samurai case next week, though!

If it wasn't for the fact that I knew this would be the end of the arc, I would have just not bothered with this episode. But as it has now been concluded, I'm done with this anime. I just hate the ridiculousness of it. Sure, a realistic representation of court proceedings would probably be boring as shit, but this goes too much the other way, if you ask me. It's not a good sign when I'm constantly keeping an eye on the bar to see how much time is left of this nonsense.

Considering how much more there is to watch on Saturdays, I could do without this one taking up my time.

well I never played the game and I thought this one is just too over the top ridiculous , therefore I can not get into this one, I'd rather watch Conan :P

since there is more logic in Conan

Episode 4: Turnabout Sisters - Last Trial

This show I swear. Its so cheesy and ridiculous its great. Sure I understand why people would be put off by it but I see it more as a parody since it really is just ridiculous.

I hope Mayoi and Naruhodo get together though. They already have Chihiro's blessing. Just get married now. XD Anyways they make a cute couple and will be cheering them on in the upcoming cases.

Looks like this is going to be arc based with a new case every couple of episodes. There really isn't a consistent plot line so far but that can change I suppose.

On to the next one.
