Demon Souls had me all raged up took me about three weeks to get past the first area due to online invaders, one after another they came to hunt down the noobs like me. I must have died 10 time by the hands of invaders just trying to get to Phalanx.

Glitches and games that make it dilebrate to screw you over (only a couple I like doing that maybe because of short rounds/levels or that I would still progress)

and some of the old platformer games... they could be hellish to deal with ;(
some of where the controls are done to be horrible or movements.

Speaking of old platformers, my best friend and I recently ran through Super Mario Bros. -- while drunk.
Yeaaah... That was stressful lol! We also didn't know about holding start to continue, so we began from the first stage each try. The relief and cheers were epic, though, when we finally won. One of my favourite gaming memories (I wasn't drunk enough to forget :P).

What are some older, hellish platformers you've struggled with (and conquered!)?

Cs:go gets me pretty heated mainly because of the people who play their music in the game (took me forever to figure out how to mute them) It is the only game that has made me slam my hand down out of pure frustration. Dragons dogma gets me pretty angry as well.

Grifball in Halo random teammates.

The teammates that throw the ball to the other team as soon as we are able to pick it up. The same teammates who wont wait for me to clear out the enemy team to give them a chance to go in.

Use to play competitively with a some friends and took it serious back when it first started since we always did good in our division, but now that I usually run solo I've run into games when it seems like I either get people who know what their doing or the worst teammates ever.

Nothing more fun than investing half an hour into a level of fire emblem and losing because you failed a 93% chance. This happened a week and a half ago during revelation and I am still recuperating from the salt overload.

Call of duty used to get me salty(starting when BO2 was released and every game after), but after a while I got used to how broken the game is and then eventually just stopped playing.

Bf4 got me salty because of the gall they had to release a single patch that literally broke the mechanics in game. The game wasn't perfect before the patch but it was literally the closest I've seen in an online shooter; it's so bad now that I also don't play that game.

Bethesda games get me salty when they crash 5 times in a single hour. Especially since I rely on autosaves as a sort of challenge.

Fallout 4 was so buggy at first that I couldn't contain my salt, and was talking to myself half the time while playing. They at least fixed some of my grievances, but the others I have to just live with.

Dark souls is just terribad level design. A game designed to frustrate you with stupid camera angles and cheap ways to sap your health bar.

Xenovese... that game is just bad.

What really upsets me in a game is when there are bugs or broken mechanics then when I just die often. I'm not a casual by any means and am looking for more than just 'the experience of the world's story'.

Broken mechanics make a game hard to be immersed in, i.e. nerfing ballistic damage and increasing the headshot multiplier made battlefield 4 near unplayable; FLIR can no longer detect heat signatures through smoke and apparently amplifies light now, so it is now impossible to see when you are near a flare or someone has a flashlight/laser, etc.

Bugs just make a game unenjoyable, i.e. getting stuck in fallout as I am trying to run away from an enemy; aiming my gun to be blasted high into the sky only to fall to my death(fixed I think); [skyrim]Conjuration AI just standing there, etc.

In most recent that comes to mind, it has to be Darkest Dungeon...and it's not necessarily due to the randomness...silly checks I don't fulfill like, forgetting to equip my new party trinkets or training my roster. Managed to lose a lvl5 Bounty Hunter and someone else had to tell me that it still had level 1 skills.

Ah, okay. I just don't remember a whole lot of that game, haven't played in ages. I thought you had to beat Phalanx before it'd let you go into body form.

super gouls and ghosts (snes)

I don't know how many times I sat down and tried my heart out. I could manage the first two or three levels and then it was all over. that boss you fight while on the raft ate so many lives its not even funny. all made worse by the fact that one of my best friends growing up could work the game like a dirty tramp and even though I enjoyed seeing him play it, it made my own short commings all the worse.

Stupid raft... I hope it burns.
