This is self-inflicted, from pushing to far. Nothing from the plot, and the price he pays is driven home the very first time he does something. So, we should see something similar around episode 3.

XD I died after I read that. Deku's face made that picture for me. Anyways, the potential for theme exploration is there and it seems that the manga explores it so that's good. I do hope it doesn't continue to feel generic or "by the books" as someone else has stated. The potential is there for it.

Most of the action and plot is by-the-books, There won't be very many surprises or sudden plot twists. Most of the major events are heavily foreshadowed. That said, it is a very good series for the genre and the characters do manage to do some soul searching along the way.

Pretty good, seems like this is gonna be one of the hyped shows of the season. It kind of reminds of One Punch Man with the heroes and all that.

The first episode was really good. The MC is extremely wimpy, probably even more than Tsuna, but i felt for him when he was a kid. I want to see how he progresses on his journey to being a hero. Overall, liking the characters and the comedy is very much there. My kind of shounen.

This was just the first episode, I didn´t expect to be amazed by any means, but it did set up really well the world in which the characters live. The action scenes were pretty good, Bones always does a great job with action, I certainly hope future fights can reach the level of quality seen in One Punch Man, or at least pretty close to it, considering this is also a show about superheroes. The main character is a total wimp but it is totally justified, imagine being in his situation, I would be devastated knowing that everybody has a superpower except me.

This show has incredible potential, and since the manga is still increasing in popularity, this will be a total joy to watch.

When I first saw Izuku, who is a short and amiable main, I felt some Onoda (Yowamushi Pedal) vibes. When he opened his mouth, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Onoda's voice actor.

First episode was a lot of fun. One of the most promising shows so far this season. Though I wish this was two cours instead.

Episode 1

Finally got to sit down and watch this. I'm SO pleased with this adaptation. I'm at a loss for words. I'm just really, really happy. Just sad that we're only getting 13 episodes.

edit

Also, anyone else watching this on Funimation's website having trouble with their video player recently? I tried watching MHA there but it kept buffering every few minutes so I switched to the app and it worked just fine. :/

nvm I just switched to SD. ^^;;;;

The manga has been in my recommendations on Amazon for awhile now and I can see why.

I really enjoyed this first episode and I think it did a good job of letting the viewers know about the world, but without giving too much away. I like that All Might isn't what he appears to be to the public. For someone who knew nothing the part with him leaving the store got me excited that he has some stuff to hide.

This and Concrete Revolutio should get my superhero fix this season. Can't wait for more.

Felt a strong desire already for a OPM crossover with this.

Why didn't I think of that sooner!

Unfortunately, Mt. Lady, along with most of the pro heroes from this episode, is a rather minor character in this series. Most of her appearances are in manga omakes. Interestingly, the author almost made her the main heroine of the series, but he changed it due to having issues with her gigantification powers.

I really enjoyed this episode. The whole Hero academy reminds of One Punch Man. Maybe we'll see a God level threat lol. I appreciate the main character striving despite being aware of how weak he is and so far doesn't pretend he can " save" everyone. Something tells me his hero role model might not have any quirks either, or was also a late bloomer.

All Might is very strong.

Nothing like God level threats here, just Heros fighting villains. Some Heros are stronger than others, but not on a Saitama level. You get to see how strong All Might is next episode, and also how weak.

Ep 1

Off to a good start, I'd say. Really liking the animation and art style, as expected. The OP was pretty cool too and hints at plenty of action to come. I'm assuming that if 80 percent of the population has powers, most of those powers have to be pretty weak. I mean, in the first episode alone there were plenty of people standing around while villains were about, so I think it'd make sense that the average person has mostly useless Quirks. (Like Izuku's mom for example)

Definitely looking forward to meeting more of the heroes and seeing how our protagonist develops.

I think I like this.

I had dropped the manga after a few chapters; it wasn't keeping my interest.

But animated... it just might work for me. After an enjoyable episode 1, I'm happy to give episode 2 a try. I think it does a really good job with tone, fitting in the genuinely sad and serious moments with the overriding (in this episode at least) comedy-adventure stuff, in a way that didn't make it feel out of place, but a necessary part of the whole.
