well i had multiple people break it to me that my dream and life goals are not possible and delusional and broke down from bad mental health so....yeah i'm in the same seat now....it's weird how quickly things can change

It's not really like that for me; people's words don't really affect my goals, if anything I'd go against what they say to prove that I could do it.

My lack of ambition stem from not having any love for money or materialism... and 2nd I don't really know what I have an interest in.

My goal is impossible though as it's to see humans become biologically immortal because i don't see value in life if it will just end.

I have no interest in life aside from that goal and being told it's impossible leaves me with nothing left so no ambition haha

I just think it's odd that you want people to live for a long time.

And there are so many complications to that concept... like if people become immortal, there won't be space for more births, which mean less genetic variations and mutations so evolution would come to an infinite halt... which could lead to vulnerability against microorganisms that are constantly evolving.

I personally wish births stopped altogether and humans could genetically alter our species ourselves which is impossible.

But it's mostly because i think a life where you die after 90 years is no different then dying when you are 20.

From how i see it Suicide and waiting are all you can do in life really and both have the same results.

Pretty much enough to drain all of your motivation for life.

Apparently psychologists and proffesionals help with that and get your motivation back but 7+ years of seeing them and nothing has changed makes me think that's just a way to exploit people for money.

Assuming I don't fail my classes, I want to work with software. Otherwise I'm not too sure.

eh it's all up to opinion really.

You may see worth in living 90 years happy then dying but i would rather just die at 20 then go through a happy life just to die

I have a nursing degree and pharmacy technician license and have spent the last 12 working between both. I enjoy working in the health field and feeling at the end of my day I have contributed and helped others. I am very satisfied with my career choice.

I also raise two children. I consider that my other full time career (although I love being a mom so it isn't that it feels like work). I owe it to them and society to raise them to be strong and independent. I have to provide them with the tools to enter the real world and be successful contributors while maintaining their own happiness. That requires me to focus a lot of attention and time on their needs.

Between my career and my kids, I think this is all I will ever want to do, but you never know

No I want to die when I'm 40 before I hit 50. Doesn't make what you said any less correct though.

Well it's not incorrect to me there is no difference i did say "I think" as in to me there is no difference not that it's a universal fact.

I agree with you on some points, to be honest.

At the same time, I feel it's the same with immortality... at some point the individual will feel there is no point.

Curious what others want to do i'm studying programming in university in the next year or two (Depending if i get accepted in first try)

I plan to make my work my life and work at work and when i get home work on other projects for work to get more done sleep then repeat.

My lifestyle is going to suck and be draining and awful but what's the point of wasting time having fun and socializing and partying etc... i mean you have limited time in your life it makes more sense to make the most of it which is why i plan on spending the majority of my time practicing and learning ....which i started to do this year when i'm not having breaks which i need to say goodbye to eventually.

I want to leave something behind when i die but i don't want children because i have personal reasons to not want children i want to create something that i can customize and form.

What do you guys want to do how do you want to live your life and go about your career?

I am almost done with my career, I am almost at the last position I can be in. I believe there are only 1 or 2 positions for me after this.
Start hardcore don't worry about socializing, kick start that career first. The social will come with money and affluence. I didn't have a desire to have children until after I fell in love and got married. The desire did eventually come after I got married. Glad I had kids. If you have a fair amount on the ball forget programming, they're a dime a dozen. Try engineering, it's tough to get a good electrical engineer. They pay is crazy good. Stay your path you are planning and thinking correctly. Steel your resolve and get it done. Glad to see youth doing it the right way.

Personally i would stay in programming (unless i got alot of free time with an engineer job) because i have always wanted to help program games which was my main point in wanting to learn how to program since i was like 9

Feeling nothing while alive is horrible, but being in oblivion is better than feeling pointlessness.

You want to die when you are 40?? Good gravy man why? I have more money now than ever before. My sword mastery is very good. My physical strength and mind are just coming out of the peak age. The soldier still salutes my wife every morning. I can bike 50 miles easily. Dying at 40 is waaay too young. If you take care of yourself, the 40s are your strongest most powerful years. 40? Dang you're just finding out what being a grown man is all about. Youth is still pretty strong through your 30s. It's ok everyone says things like this in their youth. I used to think I'd be arthritic and slow by this time. Not true, I am actually very surprised at my total power, speed and strength at 50. Not to mention I study about an hour everyday. Chin up man your 40s are going to awesome.
