I loved that they were in English. I was not expecting that.

After the only commonality: "They both have bears that talk", no. Not even close.

Episode 1: Time For the Bear and the Girl to Part

OMG this was hilarious. Might be the comedy of the season for me but it's still too early too determine that. But damn like many others I lost it at "DON'T TOUCH ME!" Can we get more of her?

I like the MC she has a cute voice and is pretty funny herself. Also Natsu seems fun too. I failed the second question of the city girl quiz. HOw is it not oi oi XD

The village history...was not expecting that nor was I expecting him to tell that to 9 year olds. SEXUAL HARRASSMENT. I could BEARly keep a straight face during this, had me smiling the whole way.

Definitely looking forward to the next one

I liked the first episode for sure. If an anime can make me laugh then it is doing something right. I always tend to go into Slice of Life anime with lower expectations, so this one surprised me a bit.

Definitely excited for the next episode!

Kumamiko -Girl Meets Bear EP 1 / Time for Bear and Girl to Part )

Non- Non Biyori but more risque . And from Kinema Citrus which gave us Barakamon

Machi wants to go to the school in the city and wants to get away from the mountains where she is A Shrine Maiden with her bear friend Natsu Kumai who both have been together a long time . He says no and puts her throgh a series of tests to see if she's ready! But it all goes downhill later when her brother shws up and gives a not quite innocent version of the Shrine Maiden to the neighbor kids.

The bear is a male so no lesbian bears...so far.

and noone seems to want to kill the bears, and the bears eat sushi not people.

and all the "sexy" lore bits seem to be played strictly for over the top laughs.

Ep 1

Kinema Citrus always delivers with SoL and this seems to be no different. The comedy caught me by surprise and I really enjoyed that. Machi is so sweet, and I'm digging her VA. Seems like she's pretty new too, so that's always good. I guess I'm not meant for the city life because OIOI is totally "oi oi" or maybe "01 01"? That ED was great, but I loved the OP actually as well. All in all, a solid start to what will surely be a relaxing and comedic show.

You've got my attention.

For sure!!

The whole show was delightful from the start, and that ED sealed it.

Episode 2

After bragging and begging, Natsu is willing to help Machi go to school in the city. Her first task is to buy a Heattech piece of clothing from Uniqlo. Of course, being the country bumpkin she is, she thinks this department store is a hardware store seeing that all she could think about is the heat. But she suffers a huge setback right off the bat when the bridge is destroyed, and someone else is using her bike. So she grabs Yoshio's bike, which is falling apart and crashes. But she did get a lift and buy a Heattech shirt, but she realizes that she can't do anything on her own.

That's a hilarious episode there. Not to mention, the Uniqlo reference as well, and speaking of which, a Uniqlo store recently opened in the Seattle area not too long ago. Right now, they are only in major cities on the East and West Coast in the US, but more locations figure to be coming in America.

Episode 2: A Hard Road

Lol there's a Uniqlo in the mall I work in so it was kind of funny to see it mentioned here. I don't shop there though, their prices are too high and I'm not a fan of the style either.

I love how Machi over thinks things. Like it's super cute. What is this HEATTECH stuff? Is it a heater? Will it explode? XD She's too freaking adorable she needs a hug.

Still keeping up with the comedy though. I still found it to be funny, and Machi's facial reactions were on point I loved it. Two days?!?! Not nearly enough time to scale the mountain and buy some clothes.

Good episode looking forward to the next one.

Episode 2

Heh, so Machi got pretty much the last laugh after her little errand. She should of taken a car rather than riding that bike though.

I still enjoy her and that bear's chemistry in this show, very cute:

Machi desperately wants to grow and become more independent but Natsu is an overbearing father figure who wants to keep her as that clingy little crybaby of a girl who adored him so much growing up and not let her leave the nest. Natsu is frankly being quite mean and unsupportive of Machi but (partly due to his own coddling) she lacks common sense and is a liability to herself which makes the interactions between the two all that much funnier and cuter.

Hopefully as the story progresses Natsu will loosen the reins a bit and realise Machi needs to do her freedom and that Machi will realise Natsu is just trying to look out for her.
