Same, I have given up on my Precure thread.

Did you like episode 2? I thought it was enjoyable.

No.

Not enough doki to care for the show. Only one song is keeping the show right now.

I think the only way they going to get Harmony Gold to give up the rights to the series is for somebody that owns macross in Japan start a donation to get enough money to buy the rights back.

I think what I love most about Delta is that after all these years they finally have a military idol group. One would think that having such a thing would be common in macross because of how powerful music is as a weapon. Also it has been building up to dancing valkyries. I just love this show!

Which group? Aerial Knights or Walkure? I find both sides quite mysterious imo.

The Delta Force group is the most normal one so far.

I am kind of curious though, is Mirage another daughter Max and Millia had after Macross 7, or is she one of their daughters' daughters.

I guess Walkure, it just seems natural for macross to have such a group. I'm really surprised such a thing hasn't happen after the original war.

I'm really enjoying Macross Delta! I've been watching Macross since the original came across as Robotech. A real shame it can't be seen properly here... crying shame!

The Bluray imports even come with English subtitles.

Edit: timely article:

Yeah, to me they are the most prominent group so far. My guess is that they will have a rivalry against those Aerial Knights. From the first battle, one of them even tried to kill Mikumo with a direct attack.

The Delta group has that one guy who seems to dislike Hayate. Should be interesting to see how their relationship will be like rest of the season.

Edit: Also, Walkure's Mikumo seems to be like the real ace of the group (her performances are much better imo) although Kaname is the leader. That blonde guy from the Aerial Knights is their ace. Delta's captain is a pretty cool guy also.

I wonder if we are going to get rivalries sparking up in the Walkure group, i know we will get rivalry in the delta squad. And the captain is awesome, I like how he kind of looks like a combination of Britai and Global.

Hm, not sure on the Walkure group at this rate. They seem very friendly with each other still.

The one rivalries that can so may be possible so far could be:

Keith Aero Windermere (Aerial Knights)/Messer Ihlefeld (Delta): saw an image from the OP song with hints about this
Messer Ihlefeld (Delta)/Hayate: a lot of building up between the two
Kaname Buccaneer (Walkure)/Roid Brehm (Aerial Knights)? Idk maybe because they are the respective leaders of their group. Plus, Roid noticed her when she was singing the first episode.
Mikage (Delta)/Hayate: rocky relationship from the start

I really hope one day we can kick Harmony Gold to the curb. Those bloody copyright trolls have no right to be keeping such a beautiful anime series from the rest of the world.

Maybe we as fans should look into the possibility of crowd-sourcing a legal defense fund for any company willing to challenge them for the rights to Macross? Such endeavors have worked before for similar legal cases in the past. I think the general consensus is that their claim won't hold up in court, it's just a question of getting the money together to get to court in the first place.

I mean, yeah I've been pirating the series like I did with Frontier, and the subs are ok (if a bit too profanity-laden to be accurate to the original Japanese), but with a series this good I'd much rather obtain a production copy so my money can go to support the various companies involved. I'm sure I'm not the only one either. There's a huge fanbase that's just waiting to be tapped, and despite their claims to the contrary I highly doubt Harmony Gold has any plans to do anything other than sue other people for infringing rights they probably don't even have in the first place. My god copyright trolls are a plague upon this world, these stuffed up rat-bastards will never understand the meaning of deculture.

Also, ladies and gentlemen,

Deculture has returned.
It makes all the excessive fansub profanity worthwhile.

You said it bro. I am LOVING the VF-31's! I know a few guys at the Air Force base here in town that would kill to get in the cockpit of a machine like that in real life, and I don't blame them. Humanity has come a long way since the Zentradi first landed here, that much is certain.

They also brought back the VF-1 for Hayate's training and the dogfight between him and Mirage in ep. 3. The contrast between it and the VF-31 stunning, especially at the end when Messer swoops in with his and gives poor Hayate's bird a fresh coat of paint. Considering Hayate was able to out-manuver Mirage pretty well after Freyja fold-decultures his head out of his ass, it goes to show you that while the newest tech will never beat the best pilot, it certainly does help. Even Hayate calls him out on it.

Also, it's a bit refreshing to see Hayate fail so badly at piloting at first. It makes him less of a Gary Stu than Alto. Then again Alto was attending school to be a pilot and had probably had simulator experience, so that should be taken into account, not to mention flying in atmosphere has got to be harder than flying in deep space.
