My significant other and I were planning to marathon his show together because we were hug fans as kids. Is it worth watching?

Toei put near zero effort into it, so the animation is really lazy at times.
Keep in mind that it mostly follows the manga, so it won't be a whole lot like the first anime. They did diverge from the manga and botched it in the first half.

I'd say the second set of 13 episodes is worth watching, especially the latter half.

"Toei put near zero effort into it, so the animation is really lazy at times." So just like the rest of their shows, gotcha.

" it mostly follows the manga, so it won't be a whole lot like the first anime." Aces, I like the original anime and everything, but it really is forever trapped in the 90s so I could really do for something else. Plus the mangaka is married to Yoshihiro Tagashi, right? If that's the case she must be all kinds of talented.

Toei put less effort into it than usual.

I really like the manga. I'd like this adaptation better if Toei tried harder and didn't animate a lot of it like they were deadpan reading a play.

Really? So on a scale of Mononoke to World Trigger would it be like a digimon adventure, Saint Seiya or as bad as Worlld Trigger?

Okay I'm gonna tell you that yes the animation is not the greatest but the reason for this is that literally they could not get any sponsors for this which means they had no money. There was a big reason it aired (It was FREE) online only at first and NOT on TV. It didn't start airing till around the second arc. Which you can tell the animation got better. Japans economy for entertainment is really bad so they need lots of money (which they didn't have) to make it what it should of been. But now that they have sold lots a merch and have gotten sponsors they are able to do a better job. Though story wise (except for like maybe 1 part) is pretty close to the manga just the animation has flaws on it.

This is why I'm such a huge endorser to watch anime on legal sites (if it's available) and buy official merchandise. It helps the industry loads by not only making better animation but shows in general.

Okay so I love the OP song a lot! It's cute and light and just kinda up my ally. Everything to me looked great! and am so glad to see everyone back. The slightly new style I really love, they just seem way more expressive. Plus I loved that their transformations looks almost 3D but weren't. They looked like Chibi-usa transformation from the Black Moon Arc. The only thing I hate is the fact it's called Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3... Like why not Sailor Moon Crystal Infinity or Sailor Moon Infinity would have just been great.

Only watched two or so episodes of World Trigger, but I'd put it at that level or worse.

Oh... Yikes. Well the guy above said it apparently gets better. Plus, if the two episodes you saw were near the beginning, I can promise you you haven't even come close to seeing how bad an average episode of that show is. Hopefully thats the case. I can handle a season of early World trigger quality if it gets better later on.

Watched the episode, and it is definitely an improvement over the previous seasons.
If they keep this up, the arc'll be good.

Just watched episode 27 (S3 ep1), and the animation is SO MUCH BETTER! From what I could see there weren't any wonky faces and the transformation scenes have been greatly improved. And by greatly improved, I mean that they are not CGI and they look good. Plus, one of the things that always bothered me with the previous seasons was when Mercury would say her version of the "I'll punish you" line (I don't remember what she actually says), her pose was always really bad looking. But now, it actually looks good!

Here's a comparison

Just watched the new season of Sailor Moon Crystal and I love it! The animation looked so fluid and smooth unlike the previous seasons, the characters actually have personalities, and the transformation was epic! It's hilarious when everyone kept referring Haruka as a he lol they will find out her real sexuality soon.
My favorite attack is Sailor Jupiter's. It was so intense and epic!
It was nice to see Haruka and Michiru together and everyone calling them a cute couple. They make such an awesome couple.
I cannot wait for the next episode! We'll get to see Chibi Moon and hopefully another Hotaru cameo.
10/10 for Sailor Moon Crystal season three

The first episode of Season 3 was better than the last two arcs combined.

It's interesting that they seem to have adopted the Guardians' personalities from the 90's anime. Not sure how I feel about that because the loyalty to the manga was supposed to be the main thing that set this show apart from the old one. But, I can't deny that they're more likable this way.
