I have a friend who asked me a question and I wasn't sure how to answer it. I thought it was a good enough question too. So I'm asking you guys because I can get it off my mind.

If people are allowed to say how they feel, then why is insulting looked down upon? Are you allowed to care about someone else's feeling when you express your opinion? Are you inhumane if you don't consider someone's feeling first?
Why is that?

hahaha

Newton's third law is: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

but I just think it's just that some peeps can't handle the truth xD

I always thought of verbal bullying as a person stating their unpopular opinion. Some people need to grow skin thicker than steel if they want to survive in this harsh world and I am one of those people.

Saying people need to grow thicker skin doesn't justify being an asshole to people. No one has any "right" to treat another human being badly. At all.

There's a difference between having a "negative opinion" of someone and just straight up treating people like garbage instead of people.

It's okay if you're responding to negativity as a defense, but just being mean/rude to people for no reason at all is not okay, and there's no excuse for that.

So, if you're going to into multiple responses to adopt the "Hey, it's THEIR fault if they're offended...Whaddya want me to do, lie?" defense until you find a hoped-for public validation of it, why did you even bother asking for an explanation?
Was it to confirm Why Everyone Else Is Wrong?

(Or did you just want us to provide you with a helpful scenario where you could go ahead doing anything you wanted without having to worry about anyone else's feelings or identity, because one didn't occur to you?
Sorry, one's just not occurring to me, either.)

Are we allowed to care about other people's feeling? Is it really inhumane to not consider someone else's feeling when stating your opinion?

I hope you are listening to what you're saying and how it sounds, because yes, as human beings, we are supposed to take other's feelings into consideration.

Well, my Hetalian, you're right. It's weird because I still don't understand what it means to be human.

Okay, I'll level with you: Boy, are YOU asking the World's #1 Expert.
(I can already hear my cadences starting to adopt that distinctly Lewis Black-like rhythm: )

You want an honest opinion--MY kind--about your last three months of posts, as filtered through your own exploration of mental illness (oh, I'm not even going near that last drive-through lead-in), percolated and stewed from having to read those posts, and the chatty "Have I gotten my answer yet?" responses that don't seem to listen to the responders?...
Because I'd say you'd find out PRETTY DARN QUICK firsthand about how the other person feels being subjected to a self-indulgent rant of of Brutal Honesty, deserved or not.

I usually don't let loose with it, A) because I am polite, and B ) because I have enough worries about being booted by the Mods as it is already.
And if you want it, I'm in every position to bring it, but the point is.......I don't think you do. Consider carefully why, and maybe it'll put you in the other person's shoes.
There's "feeling better", and then there's making sure the other person feels better, as you don't want to burn bridges behind you, just out of one moment's lapse of good judgment, politeness, or cognitive functionality.

THAT'S

WHY.
