After the most recent series like One Punch Man and KonoSuba, now I prefer an anime where I see strong will protagonist. Somehow I can't seem to relate to weak/shy protagonists in many anime because I just want to punch their pathetic face. Sadly it seems like an undying trend in anime to have that kind of protagonist paired with a tsundere. That's one reason I dropped many series, the most recent is "Shomin Sample". I want to see more people like Kazuma, the type who won't hesitate to get rough with girls when they misbehave.

Not a fan of Sci fi generally (There are a couple of Sci fi settings in anime that I have enjoyed), I also dislike anime that have black and white Villains without a well developed back story and reasoning (Again exceptions). I love weak protagonists that surpass the expectations of others later in the series, I also love it when a comedic relief character performs a task well.

Any kind of unnecessary crap really. I just like a series to be serious and get to the point, no filler. And fan service isn't for me either.

I can't think of any things that I strictly refuse to tolerate in a series, but I'm typically not a fan of harem anime.

I understand and really enjoy what @GrandMasterTim said, I use to feel the same way however now that I've watched quite few animes, personally I enjoy what @kiwikiwiho said. Do you think your perception changes as you watch more and more animes?

One thing I love seeing is characters growing and character development. I usually drop series or get bored really fast when the characters stay stagnant or have no depth. I hate hate hate dull characters and characters that don't seem to learn because it doesn't make it seem real. Real in the sense that wouldn't make it cliche or a "oh its no different than ___." I feel like that implicates the artist's/author's lack of interest in their characters other than to build a harem or to show how strong they are or are getting. And I hate watching harem anime because of this exact thing, with a few exceptions, but that's a genre some people like.

This exactly.
I make a few exceptions but it just gets annoying fast sometimes. Great comment! (^▽^)

Filler and recap episodes.
A male MC with a female harem and NO ROMANCE (aka harem ending).
Last episode of the season cliffhangers.
Musicals in mid-scene (please don't bust out singing).
