Yeah, just a couple months. I think it has to do with how light they are, and how putting them down on a hard surface can break the inner parts easily. Of course depending on how long the cord is, this gets worse because of the limited places you can put them. And heaven forbid that you accidentally tug the cord, its all over if that happens.

My headphones usually last 3 months depending on how many times I drop them.

I'm terrible with earbuds. I'm lucky if they last a few months.

I don't have earbuds, but I built my own pair of headphones and they've lasted me 5 years. Had to re-solder them a few times though.

earbuds last me about a year before i break or loose them, i always have a tough time getting the right earbud so when portability isn't so needed i use circumaural headsets. My current cheap favorite is the Superlux HD 681. I've had it for a couple of years and its always comfy if not ugly as heck.

My 4S earbuds still work as they should. My over-ear headphones are currently going on 1/2 a year, and work perfectly fine.

I had good Sony earbuds that lasted for 3-4 years before the left one stopped working. I really need to buy another pair of good earbuds like them, as I am using the stock iPod earbuds and they sound, fit, and feel like crap.

Headphones die out faster if you keep listening to them on high volume, (and it's also hard on your ears) but i normally don't go above 20% so mine last for a couple of years xD my sis always asks to borrow mine and they die out WAY quicker due to the fact she probably listens to them at like 110% or something. i have multiple pairs and i dare not give her my favorite ones lol

20%? My hearing is great and I hate anything under 60%

It is the same for myself. I have hearing loss and one ear is actually misshaped so earbuds can really hurt. I am currently looking for something new that works with my consoles, tv and pc. I have Turtle Beach and AfterGlow but there are outdated.

For earbuds I use my Sony NWZ-W273S waterproof Walkman. I mainly use those for workouts. I haven't had a problem with them except for the fact that the contacts for charging/data are annoying to clean.

For when I actually want decent sound quality which is most of the time I use my AKG K240 headphones. My cable frayed at the connector after about a year. I replaced the cable with one that's thicker with braided nylon. Having a detachable cable is nice.
