The familar is New for the Anime and frankly I think a bad sign. They seem to be using it to voice Benio's normally silent rage. To me that suggests they were not confident that they could get it across visually.

One of the things I like about the manga is that, while Benio puts up a stoic and dignified front, there are a lot of expressions that only Rokuro gets to see; Rage Benio, Stubborn Benio, Smug Benio, frustrated Benio and many others that only Rokuro gets to know.

If they distract from those moments with a yammering mascot character I think the show will suffer.

On the plus side
Today we get Benio Pajamas version #1

I'm enjoying the show so far. I like the anime style and I think it fits the characters/story very well. I'm always more concerned with the animation's tone and feel over how good it is. If it fits it's characters/story/setting then I enjoy it but no matter how great the animation may be if it doesn't fit the tone then I usually don't enjoy it is much. Kill La Kill visuals fit that storyline very well. Sound of Sky's visuals were soft, welcoming and just felt very warm so I really enjoyed them, the same goes for Haibane Renmei. Twin Star Exorcists animation so far fits it's story very well.

Guess they'd better hurry up and destroy all the Kegare if they don't want to end up hitched together! No need for them to go spawn a kid if they go ahead and take care of it themselves, after all.

So who's stronger, Underpants Head Exorcist Guy, or Benio and Rokuro?
They're the best exorcists, but he dispelled their magic and stopped the fight in an instant. Maybe it's that they've got the potential to be the strongest, with the right training, but they're not there yet.

Either way, it'd be cool if we got to see Underpants Head Exorcist go all-out at some point. I'm a sucker for flashy shrine-magic battles.

Episode 2

Being adapted from a Shonen manga, I wonder how far studio pierrot will make the anime out to be. The powers are interesting and characters look noticeable enough to keep track of.

Looking forward to more story and progression

This episode was ok. On one hand we got some good interactions between our eponymous pair and a pretty sweet fight between them. On the other, however, we get a bit of an overly drawn out episode that at times felt very slow with more of that snarf-clone and a lot of characters just kinda standing around. Speaking of characters, aside from the main duo and the new exorcist leader guy we haven't really got much characterization for anybody. Oh and the flashbacks. They aren't too bad yet, but I noticed them a lot more than I did last episode, and if that increase continues they could quickly become overused and distracting. Still looking forward to the next episode though.

Man, I wish Rokuro would cut down on his whining. Gotta love unorthodox Chiefs

Once again, the fight scenes were quite good, and there's nothing like being told that your destiny is to make a baby with your despised rival . Let's hope the romance is handled as well as the battles are.

I like the manga and the anime seems cool but I don't know about that familiar. Do you guys remember or know The Great Gazoo or Scrapy-doo? the familiar seems like those characters. well its too early to judge, who knows it might be a cool character?

In my posts I compare him more to Snarf from Thundercats, because whereas Gazoo or Scrappy at least had the decency to do something plot relevant on occasion Snarf just shat around cowering and/or screaming whenever something even remotely dangerous was happening unless he was praising main character Lion-O. This behaviour strikes me as being much more akin to what we have seen the fiery familiar guy who's name I'm not even going to bother remembering ever, also he and Snarf are both cats, so it fits in my book.

Episode 2: Intersection of Twin Stars - A Fateful Fight

Oh god I couldn't help but smile at the end when they said that it was an arranged marriage. That is hilarious. I really hope they do the romance well, but I hope Benio is aggressive since she is the type to accept these kinds of things "Stop whining I have to have your baby to stop the Kerage!"

The fight scenes are beautiful, I hope they can keep up this momentum with the action and what not, but next week looks like a slice of life episode so I don't mind. The childhood friend vs. the wife? Oh snaps

Yeah I'm with most on not liking the familiar. I feel like a familiar is unnecessary unless it adds something to the story. He just seems to be there to counter argue against Rokuro which can get annoying.

Looking forward to the next episode though, also saw Greylurker say we will get a whole collection of Benio pajamas. Excited for that cause her bunny pajamas were totes adorbs

Fight was pretty hyped, Although at the PUNCH the only tag line in my head was "Get Rekt Bitch, You Submit to Me"

Glad its going more of a 1 on 1 (semi triangle) romance route than the multiple girls cannon fodder girls I was expecting...though that could still happen to hamper the future events.

Haha but now this show seems like the prequel for the shounen series that will have the Miko , now wonder who dies later on so the kid has one parent, or maybe both die and he/she has to figure everything on their own.

LOL

That is where I stopped reading last week. Excellent pace and edit.

They did changed the clothes of all the omnyojii in there ... easier to animate with the same outfit

Nice second episode. The fight was brief but well intense and animated, the two rivals are destined to breed the strongest exorcist, and lastly we're bound to get more insight on both their pasts. The mascot familiar kinda irritates me and I hope it doesn't make too many appearances and I'm really loving the OP song, Wagakki Band's music is always on point!

So the familiar is an anime only character? I'll have to keep that in mind for when I start reading the manga.

Pink Boxers. The proper attire when making a very important visit to recruit the best hopes for mankind.

Boosto! Falcon Punch!

Was that old guy molesting the old lady in the background when the Twin Stars was being explained?
