I love driving, on the track and mountains at night. Driving on the freeway in California traffic sucks.

I just got into a 100 mph crash on the track and completely walked away without a scratch. Like I love bikes and watching the Isle of Man TT, but they aren't as safe as cars anywhere lol

With motorcycle, you can jump out and save yourself and just walk away. Unlike car, well you die along the car, and I haven't see anybody have ball to unhook their seat bell, unlock the door, and jump the heck out of the car before the crash going to kill me.

Used to love driving when I was younger but it became less fun as time moved on. There are at least 30 million more drivers about than back in 1975. The highway infrastructure can barely keep up with the number of drivers driving. Though past fuel prices were higher that condition did diminish a great deal of unnecessary driving. $4 / gallon gas actually made driving pleasurable again versus a nerve-wracking tolerance of the human condition on wheels when it was under $1 / gallon.

Prefer low population density driving or non-existent over cities, burbs, NEC, popular tourista traps. Prefer crappy 4-WD trails over Interstates.

I haven't thought about driving or buying a car because I could just take the bus.

I don't mind driving when I know where i'm going and traffic isn't bad. I refuse to drive on freeways mostly because I hate changing lanes and merging. I've had a license for close to 4 years and I still flip my shit if I have to get on the freeway for any reason. I am a good driver when I know where I'm going, but i'm shitty at navigating so going anywhere for the first time will inevitably include at least one wrong turn. Always gotta leave early.

My mom always says she doesn't worry about me, she worries about the other people on the road doing something stupid and me ending up as collateral damage

I am confident in my mechanical skills, but my situational awareness can sometimes be a little off, but this is likely just due to inexperience and will gradually get better.
