Also, I'd like to know what, exactly, is the age difference in this show?

8 years, if I'm not mistaken. Still too much of a squick factor for me, though, considering this starts when Ren is 8.
(That, and that I really don't agree with the whole 'It's okay as long as they're not blood-related!' thing anime in general has a tendency to do when it comes to adoptive siblings.)

Why does everybody have to die? Why does there have to be age complications in Boys Love? Why can't gay people have nice things?

8 years gap. Idk you've watch/read sekaiichi hatsukoi or not, but the age gap is the same as Yukina Kou (21) & Kisa Shouta (30). May be the only problem with age gap of haru & ren, bc ren is still underage, unlike Yukina from sekakoi who's already in uni.

Ugh. I didn't even notice that.

Why did they have to make BL with an 8-year-old.

Why do they have to be in the same family.

Whyyyyyyyyy

They are not in love with each other right now and actually they're not even in the same family. Haru's biological mother and Ren's adoptiv mother are the same but they're living in different families. They're related by law but that's it. They've spent one summer together to civilize Ren and after this summer
. 8 years age gap? Ok, that's not unrealistic, not in reality and especially not in anime and on top of that nothing happens until he's old enough.
So, that was worth a shitstorm?! Seriously Facebook?! I'm only watching this because of the reactions after the announcement and all I see is one of the most harmless relationships involving an adult I've seen in an anime so far (I'm not the romantic genre type).

But ok, the episode itself was kind of cute. I'lle watch the next one but I don't know if I will finish it.

I have read all I can find of the manga no romantic relationship starts till at least Ren is 15 yrs old and I have seen worse in other yaoi manga this one is light and more plot based than any yaoi I have read before this one the first episode follows the first chapter exactly as far as I can tell.

Episode 2

So Haru was involved in a nasty accident on the way back from the airport, and he had lost his memories of the time he spent with Ren, thus forgetting about the promise. Since then, his biological parents died and he's now living alone working as a host and several other jobs to support his brothers. Ren has moved to Japan to fulfill that promise, leading to some awkward moments. Life in Japan is much different than in the Canadian Rockies. And his brothers refuse to accept Ren into the family. That was some nice development there, and Haru's life has just been a wreck since the accident. It will be interesting to see what kind of relationship the two "brothers" develop given the age gap and family situation.

Another good episode packed with info and back grounds again for the story going forward. Its amazing how close the anime is staying true to the manga.

Episode 2: Black Eye

I see nothing wrong with this. Even if there are yaoi tendencies this has actually been a pleasant surprise. Was not expecting him to lose his memories of the summer.

It's going to be interesting to see him rebuild his relationship with Ren and maybe, or rather hopefully regaining his memories slowly and remembering the promise he made with Ren.

Lol his brothers are hilarious. "We won't let you take him from us" "It's doesn't matter he's already my bitch" XD he didn't really say that last part but that's how I interpreted it.

Looking forward to the next one, though I hope we get to see more of yandere eyes lady.

Kinda surprised by the lack of torches and pitchforks in this thread.

The show itself wasn't half bad, not really sure where they're going to go with it.

No pitchforks. Just really ... Zzzzzzzzz......... not enough to grab most people. Its for a niche audience, like CR likes to do sometimes.

Okay, I haven't really read the manga. I started and then stopped for some reason, I can't remember why. But, I think so far the anime is good. I'm going to start reading the manga again and maybe ill like it even more.

^ Yea I'm also tempted to read the manga before the rest comes out. I'm really liking it and I'm not sure if it is BL, if it is then only slightly, but I'm very interested to see where they take it. I loved the end of episode 2 where the one brother is like I will never accept you and the other already has and is just like "My brothers are so embarrassing." Made me chuckle.
