This' saddens me cos Banaue Rice Terraces was once included in the 7 Wonders of the World. Now, it's not. But beyond that, the newly selected places are really wonderful. No doubt.

Machu Picchu! My father has climbed that mountain many times. Hopefully in September I will climb it with him. Honestly nothing would make me more happy than to see my father, a native Peruvian, in a place that our ancestors built.

I haven't been there in twenty three years, but I am really looking forward to seeing my grandmothers house again and all of the beautiful things in Peru.

I seconded most people around here about Machu Picchu. I personally think it is the only new structure that deserves to be one of the 7 wonders. Great Wall, Taj Mahal and the Pyramids already were one of the original 7.

As for the rest, I don't quite agree as they are nothing impressive to me. Like that statue of Christ. Really....What so impressive/wondrous about that? And I even wonder why the Eiffel Tower is on the list. Tokyo Tower is identical to it but I didn't see that on the list at all.

In the end, I would prefer if there never was a proposal for a new 7 wonders. As far as I'm concern, the old 7 fits the title just fine.

And in the end it didn't even worked....

saw a thing bout it on History ch. recently, enemies just bribe their way through it, go around it, or over it >.>

I agree with you why limit the many wonders of the world to just 7

hmmm I would chose the Akropolis instead of Christ The Redeemer
and Angkor-Wat instead of the Pyramids of Gizé. I have been at the Akropolis, look
at my photos, it was awesome, a bit small but still nice, if only the Venetians hadn't
been fighting against the Osman Empire...it would be unharmed, but the history
of it resembles the whole Hellenic culture.
