For little children i would probably start with any of the following: Peter Pan no Bouken, Alps no Shoujo Heidi, candy candy, mazinger Z, Yama Nezumi Rocky Chuck, Konchuu Monogatari Minashigo Hutch, Kerokko Demetan, Wanwan Sanjushi, Hachijunichikan Sekai Isshuu, Captain Tsubasa, wanpaku Omukashi Kumu Kumu, SF Saiyuuki Starzinger, Koutetsu Jeeg, Daikuu Maryuu Gaiking, Magnerobo Ga-Keen or Captain Future.

I used to watch them as a kid my self, one of my oldest memories as a child is from Watching Go Nagais Mazinger Z.

For little kids? I'd probably go with Girls und Panzer, Non Non Biyori, or Squid Girl.

I don't want my kids identify themselves as otaku so I won't show them anime. I don't want my kids growing up and telling my anime tastes is absolute trash.

Probably something with bibles...Ya'know family freindly things like what studio Ghibli is known for.

Didn't they make kikis delivery service? Yea no way they'd make something bad 4 kids. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Or I'll probably show them Pokemon, that was awesome for me as a child

All the Miyazaki movies. Probably Totoro. That's the first movie I remember watching.

If I ever have kids, probably Digimon or something similar. Probably one of the more kid friendly shows from my childhood.
Though, to be honest, a fairly decent number of shows I watched when I was still a child weren't 'child friendly'... I was introduced to FMA when I was 12. Watched some of the more hardcore shonen (for kids/teens, but not considered child friendly in the US) such as One Piece, Bleach and the like.

I watch anime with my kids all the time.

They started with Pokémon and Yugio. Am currently rewatching the Monogatari series with my oldest daughter.

My six-year old daughter adores Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, Noragami, Card Captor Sakura, Snow White with the Red Hair, Glitter Force (aka PreCure) and Kiki's Delivery Service.

I made it clear to her that it's all fiction, and that no matter how bad it looks, the hero never dies (in this case, Inuyasha and Yato in Noragami).

If I ever do have a child I'm going to start them off young with something like Digimon . Of course they'll watch Pokémon because it will still be on TV when I'm in my late 30s After that I might move them into Generator Gawl (I don't think that's too graphic for a kid.) I'll definitely have them grow up on studio Ghibli films. Around 7-10 I can move them into Naruto and Dragon Ball Z. At the age of 14 I'll introduce them to Fullmetal Alchemist and Brotherhood, Baccano!, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Madoka Magica Erased, Samurai Champloo, Kino's Journey, Soul Eater, Death Note, Another, Angel Beats!, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and Voices of a Distant Star. At 16 I'll let them watch Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, Gundam, and Zombie Loan due to nudity or sexual content. I'll let them watch Baccano! around that time due to high gore. When they're 18 I'll let them watch whatever. I don't even watch the really graphic stuff like Berserk. Too dark.
