no it does not...though i usually end up running like this when i run as i don't move my arms when i walk or run not unless i make a conscious effort.

Not sure how everyone else does it without thinking

One of the exercises that I trained for prior to a combine involved pumping the arms as quickly as possible with proper technique. Because of the bio-mechanics involved your stride rate can actually be throttled by your arm movement so to reach your maximum potential speed you must train for that movement.

There is another exercise however where to pump your arms at a different rate from your strides to train you to control them separately. This does slow you down but it is a needed skill for catching a pass in-stride.

Conclusion: The Naruto run is probably only useful (if at all) when carrying a weapon... one long enough to get in the way of your normal motion.

He doesn't do this to run faster. Most of people omits leg day in gym. He omits arms day, so he can't move them against air resistance. That means he run a way to fast and he should stop, because it's dangerous.
