Kuromukuro EP 2 / "The Black Shell Awakens"

I was kind of cringing when how similiar the backgrounds lokked like the placrs where the Eartquake struck ( Not intrnded just timing) Also the Demon / military scenes reminded me of Godzilla,

Kuromukuro thinks for awhike Yukina was the Princess he was supposed tp protect but not . However inside his Mech Yukina jnows how to sense attacks withe equipment.

Liking this very much

Episode 3

Honestly, Yukina's personality is hard for me to get used to in this series. Ouma's chemistry with her is somewhat hilarious but I'm not feeling a strong connection yet. Plus, I find her rather useless so far. Her sister, Koharu seems kinda cute though.

In the meantime, we still don't know much about Ouma at all except for his lack of common sense in the real world. Meh, I hope the story improves but still underwhelmed by what I see so far up to this point.

Episode 3

The fan subs are starting to bug me, but there was this one line where one of the side characters was like, "I will have you commit Seppuku!", even though that's pretty messed up.

As for the series, er, I am not sure what it is trying to do. We know demon mechs are out and about, but we need to find out why. Also, characters need to be fleshed out and given more personality. Art and animation seem to be okay so far, but story and characters need work.

This is P.A. Works we're talking about here, so hopefully they can dish out better content with Kuromukuro!

Well

I really like this one in many ways but I sure hope there is a solid explanation as to how Kennouske is connected to that relic

and as soon of the other pilot said " Samurai Boy" , I started cracking up because its Kimura Ryohei , and I heard him say a similar ways to Kaji as he ie "Oh Kaji boy !!" to Kaji kun in a Magi event

Pretty slow episode, mainly just comedy involving Kennosuke's fish out of water. I find it hard to believe that he could easily read yukina's father's notes considering the changes to the language between them and now.

Pretty hilarious episode.

Although it felt a little too much like InuYasha when he came to the modern world...

Gee, thanks for the excessive exposition random-arse journalist. Besides that, I can't say I had any other complaints with the episode. As long as it doesn't slow down for too many episodes, I'm happy with an episode of Kennouske adapting to modern society.

Fight on Naked Samurai... Fight on... I could watch a whole series of the misadventures of Kennosuke. Also I do not believe he's only 18

I really like this episode becuase it slowed down to show more of the human side and little bit more of Kennouske but of course the curry part is abit over the top , its ok .Its the silly part of the show and the sibbling has no clue how to orient him to the current era is also consistent since they are not that smart making him more confused

I think Senouske at 18 is consistent , the coming of age of samurai class boys are around 15-17 years of age and maybe younger in the senguko era but I get the impression he is a young samurai warrior that must be the top and dependable in his class.

Really liking this show , the animation is consistently good since episode 1

Its just too bad that this title doesnt have a lot of traffic since its only at Netflix...

Should have thought Kennosuke would have at least adjusted to the idea of a new era, meaning having to face tech, concepts and practices different from his past. He should gotten to the point where he would be asking questions and no longer expect anything to be done as in the past.

Yukina though just annoys me. If she is around 17-18, she isn't just an airhead, but self-centered. Most people would have some understanding that a guy from the past was having trouble adjusting. Not her, he's just crazy. The fact that he saved her sister doesn't make her cut him any slack whatsoever. I suppose her past issues are meant to render her present lack of sympathy forgivable, but personally, since we all have baggage in some way, I can't agree. I do hope after this though, that she will improve, and I can grow to, if not like her, not mind her.

Otherwise, I enjoyed this slightly off-beat, funny ep.
Overall, just plain fun.

but there is one thing that has been bugging me since we dont have the back story yet is how did Kennouske was able to comfortably maneuver his machine , it seem the key is the Princess.

The writting on Yukina is that she is just a simple 17-18 teenager who likes to look cute , nothing special as seen in epsiode 1 but for some reason she can read those symbols and she loves her sister. She is not really interested with the work her Mom does but I think that is something to do with the father and trauma she experienced in childhood. She has no motivation to be like her Mom

On the other hand her little sister does.

Thats how I see it

Cant wait to see how the story gets better though

She is seventeen, old reckoning means they count the time in the womb, plus as a second year, she would either be 16 or 17. Judging from the plot so far, the princess, or her clan, was in possession of the artifact and recruited Kennosuke as the pilot. Probably Yukina's is one of the scattered descendants of the clan. In the first episode, when she sat on the navigator's seat, it injected her with something.
