I think there is a thread like this one out there but it's probably old.
I just wanted to renew it.
Thanks a bunches.

Watch this video then tell me what would you do in the situation if you were the parent.
All opinions are welcomed.

Seems to me like they were both wrong in this situation tbh.

The kid is quite obviously being a brat, but from what it seems like, the mother was not patient with him and resorted to abuse.

Of course he could be lying, but given the mother comes from a home of abuse, it wouldn't be unlikely that she does abuse him.

But what would you do differently than the mother in the video?

Clearly the mom is abusive, but the kid is also highly disrespectful. Man, if I had a mouth like that kid, I would've gotten the shit beaten out of me. If I were in the mother's shoes, family counselling. Stat.

My mother would have killed me if I pulled a stunt like that.

^^ I'd pretty much do this. ^^

Get the child tested for some type of mental illness too, just to make sure that it's not just anger issues he's dealing with. He kinda seems like he needs to be medicated.

Well, that's good that you consider the child's mental state.

Beat his ass so red it hurts to sit and rip every electronic device out of their room and ground them for a week.

My parents would probably do the same lol. But, considering that the kid actually slapped his mom, I'd probably be grounded for like five months.

What is this kid like,12? The words he's using sound too big to me. The way he talks doesn't sound like a kid. He sounds like a small adult. I'm no doctor but I do have autism and this looks like autism. Anyway! If you actually have a real issue you don't go on Dr.Phil. People with real issues should go to a real doctor. While Phil McGraw is technically a psychologist with a PHD(I was shocked too.) he is first and foremost a television personality. People aren't going to see him once a month or once a week. He can't fix your problems. If you have a real issue go to a real psychologist or therapist where things will be private.

I'd go for autism too. Not only the way he's talking, but he seems to be having a difficulty making eye contact, and paying attention.

This kid seems very spoiled.
If I were talk like that to my parents, I wouldn't see daylight for a few weeks.
