Hell ya I would want to live for ever, but certain things will catch up with you. The only way that you can live for ever is your red blood cells keep reproducing. At a certain age they start to decrease on how much they reproduce and thats how the aging process starts. Even if we where able to do such a thing, our joints and body functions might eventually start to wear out. Such as your liver, kidney or lungs. For example if you lived for ever and smoked you would eventually die from lung cancer from your own doing. I've followed this subject since I was about 16 and still do follow this very well. Scientist have developed artificial heart and have developed lungs as well. You'll be surprised how close we are to reaching the goal of living for ever. We have developed artificial blood as well so we don't ever have to worry about blood shortage, but its still in the testing stage with the FDA. Also the university of southern California that did the break threw research on finding out about our DNA structure has developed a virus that allows you to live 3x times long. Last time I checked they were in the testing stage on microscopic worms. These worms had the closest DNA structure to humans then anything else out there... well I'll leave it at this, but there still is a lot more I can ramble on about. I'm a big fan about living forever. If I could I would, unfortunately I'll most like be dead by the time this is common practice.

^^^ well Socrates was accused for "Asebeia", blasphemy and charged to death penalty by the court. he could have said he was wrong and his "daimonion" ( an inner voice which warned him while doing something wrong) was a lie to survive, but he didn't. and he could also escape from the prison, but he didn't because of his principals to obey the Law, the Law is the State and the State is the mother of all Greeks (freeborn). so at the end he had to drink a cup of hemlock, a natural poison, and died in prison. well thats the shortest version i could write.

Life is short, but that what makes it precious and beautiful. :)

So they say....But actually, I want to be forever 21 -_- I don't want to have wrinkles, gray hair, be called old lady by teenagers, have osteoporosis, have arthritis, have shaky hands, have alzheimer, have retainers, have my teeth falling when I chew on meat etc etc. Seriously, I don't want to age.

Eros for mod? Yey or ney?
And I swear there are more (or at least have been).

lolz @ arno and cookie

still like to know where that guy got the idea soc wanted to die young.

Also, amka kinda left out the important part that his friends offered to bust him out and get him to safety, but he had reasons for staying (obey the law, etcetc)

^ How on earth did you know about that thread? Thanks! ^-^

Sorry but a thread exists already:
How would you like to have an eternal life?
http://www.crunchyroll.com/showforumtopic?id=7091

To be relevant: I would in a way as i want to see how the future deals with situations. However; ''It is because we die that we try'' ^-^

EDIT - this one has more debating on it so will be kept open and the old one locked ^-^

But you have to wonder how much of it was really words from socrates rather than made up ideals from aritsotle, who actually wrote the book.
