I try to keep telling myself the americans that act like this (or the opposite extreme) are the minority every time I see something like this. But damn is it hard sometimes.

So is this a preview of what's to come when the millennial generation starts to get teaching jobs over the next twenty years? Better send your kids to private school if you can afford it.

They won't be getting teaching jobs. They'll want someone to do it for them, but expect a pay check. Bunch of lazy bastards.

Why do people have such a hard time with the idea of "privilege" Sure if there's legal equality eventually it might resolve itself, but not instantly.

When America released its slaves, they were uneducated and emotionally and physically abused. The results were predictable (infact this was used as an argument to slow down). But no the former slaves and and their children took the blame. Even without the outright racism it was there difficult to climb out of that. Being poor means you probably live in a poor town, which means your school is under funded. Crime rates are higher, because people are desperate and stressed, which also leads to higher rates of drug use.

Even if you avoid crime your still living next to more of it. And people notice the correlation. We can become biased over less. We're talking about a specie that didn't notice the golden rule and slavery didn't jive for almost 2000 years. America took 90. And do it should have made people rethink their believes about race, but most people didn't even notice that they should have.

Privilege is going down, but it's still there. It would be more surprising, if black people had equal statistics for poverty, crime, and employment after such a sort time.

It doesn't help that every time someone raises the possibility that we still have problems, there's all of this bitching about "political correctness" by people who don't know what that term means.

Deserves all the reprimanding, shouldn't be pushing PC bullshit onto kids at that age, 13-14 year olds are already struggling enough, puberty is a bitch, they don't need to feel worse about themselves nor do they need to stir their confusions about sexuality and whatnot with this crap. Bad choice on behalf of the teacher to think that bringing that kind of content into the classroom is appropriate, that kind of "education" is just... well, insulting to the already horrid public school system

I still think kids should be taught that you don't have to be cisgender or heterosexual to live a normal life, but hey, who cares about minorities?

Hooray for the indoctrination of children into warped ideologies!

wut. I mean sure some of this is pretty cavalier (as someone with ADD I think that pretending its a meaningful disability is stupid). But for the most part this seems to be parents getting freaked out over nothing.

Also if these kids are twelve im pretty sure its safe for them to know about trans and the whole LGBT spectrum. I think its best to raise your kids as accepting early.

Teacher should be fired for trying to brainwash these kids with stupidity. Scientifically there's no such thing as transgender etc... Public/Government indoctrinated thought schools are getting out of hand with this nonsense.
