So, we all know the Hunter x Hunter manga is confirmed to finally resume after a long 2 year hiatus. Though some people have a good idea as to how the rest of the current arc (Dark Continent) is going to play out, what about after that?

So, what do you guys think is gonna happen, and how long do you think it'll take for those events to concur? Will Gon and Killua reunite? Will Kurapika finish off the entire Phantom Troupe, and claim every pair of his late brethren's eyes? Will Gon defeat Hisoka in a fair fight?

Let's discuss, and share our otherwise meaningless opinions amongst each other.

I think we should all just accept and come to terms with the fact that we are likely never going to see a natural ending for this manga. It's sad but with the continuous health problems for the mangaka combined with the very unhealthy lifestyle of making manga you get a clear picture that this book is running on borrowed time.

Honestly Togashi is so unpredictable as a writer that I can´t come up with a good theory about what is going to happen in the Dark Continent. But in my opinion, even though the friendship between Gon and Killua was incredible, there is no reason at all for Gon to go on a journey again, at least for now. Think about it, Gon decided to leave his home to become a hunter and find his father, which he did, and when he transformed into an adult to kill Pitou he knew that after that he would never be able to use Nen again. Gon is strong but going into an unknown continent without Nen is like asking to be killed.

As for Kurapika, I´m pretty sure he will try to eliminate every member of the Phantom Troupe, but Leorio will try to keep him from losing himself to vengeance, even more so now that they are both going to the Dark Continent. I see no reason for Killua and Alluka to join them in the journey, not now at least, so this is a great chance to give Leorio and Kurapika more time for development.

Lastly, I´m pretty sure Gon and Killua will reunite in the future, but I can´t say for sure when it will happen and under what circumstances, we´ll just have to pray that Togashi doesn´t go into another hiatus untill this arc is completed.

I really just want Kuapika to get more shine. He was so badass in the Spider Arc and got sidelined after. How did collect all the eyes? Who had them? What does he do now? These are the questions that I want answered. TBH if I get that I wouldn't care if Togashi finished it or not, I'm fine with how the anime ended except for those particular loose ends.

Sadly.. I agree with this. We can only hope that he can get better and adopt a healthier practice for his art.

As much as I want to see the full growth of our characters, I don't think we'll ever see that. From an outsider's point of view, it seems that Togashi's passion for Hunter X Hunter is not that strong. Sure, he's coming back but for how long? I want to be wrong and that Togashi is actually really motivated about the story.

Togashi said his wife would finish it if he was ever 100% unable to. But I guess that wouldn't qualify as a "natural" ending so you may be right.

With the asspull Togashi did in the Netero vs Meruem fight, his unpredictability as a writer may end up with him giving Gon back his Nen somehow. That, or just giving Gon a reason to go on a journey once again. Maybe not into the Dark Continent, but you never know.

Yeah I'd definitely love to see more development for Leorio and Kurapika. They've been thrown under the bus far too much and it's kinda saddening because I like both of them quite a bit. Hopefully this arc ends up running a bit long with no hiatuses so that much needed development can be given.

I sure hope that Gon and Killua will reunite honestly. But yeah, you can't really predict when. Let's just pray it happens though.

Honestly, a series with such a massive slew full of such developed characters as HxH has to throw some of them on the sidelines at some points. Otherwise, things wouldn't progress much. I do understand the displeasure aimed towards the choice to throw Kurapika to the side after his arc, but honestly I do think it was for the best.

And yeah I honestly agree with you in terms of how the anime ended. It was a pretty solid ending that had quite a bit of conclusion minus said unanswered questions/loose ends.

I actually disagree with you. Togashi is actually quite young for a mangaka at only 49, and I honestly doubt he wants HxH to be his last work before he dies. Given that assumption, don't you think he'd just call it quits with HxH if he wasn't passionate towards it, especially after going on a 2 year hiatus? I think Togashi is more passionate towards it now than he has ever been, but simply has not been able to work on it due to his health. If that weren't the case, we'd probably just see him come out saying he's decided to drop it, and apologize to everyone before beginning something new. I think people fail to realize that Togashi doesn't HAVE to work on HxH, he just chooses to by his own will.
