Plot Summary

Futaba Odagiri is the new transfer student with a super energetic personality; Teru Hayama is the class president with a surprisingly mean personality contrary to her innocent looks; and Youko Nishikawa is from a formerly rich, now extremely poor family who still holds on to her princess attitude. These three unlikely students with clashing personalities become good friends and survive the day-to-day teenage life in a very funny story.

Episode 1

And it begins with the main trio running into each other by chance with one girl eating bread crusts, one chasing a cat, and one running with a bunch of bread. As it turns out, Yoko's family used to be rich, but her family's business went bankrupt, and Yamaji, who used to serve the family, is working around the clock at odd jobs. So her friends suggest that she deep-fries the bread crusts, and seeing that Futaba loves white rice more than bread that she made a bunch of rice. Quite an odd group those three make, but they get along very nicely. That was a solid way to start this show.

A cute show for sure so far but I can't see much more to it than that.

Yoko's a shy girl imo but I think she's getting along fine with her friends. What a priceless ending as well. I'm surprised this is a full length show in some ways. Also, the artwork is pretty much exactly what I had expected by Doga Kobo.

My god. How many of these CGDCT shows are we gonna get? And why do I keep liking them all.

I thought this show was really sweet. Animation was good too I thought. It fit the show nicely.

The girls were all super cute too.

But, I don't understand why with the premise of this show it's a full on 20+ minute episode show.

The girls are all pretty cute and distinct. Yoko is very (charmingly) self-conscious. Chuckled a bit with her cooking efforts, especially with the rice balls. While he has good intentions, the former servant was a little creepy.

I could relate to the bit with eating alone during lunch. Since I didn't know anyone during my lunch period, I ate alone on the first week of high school. After feeling awful about it, I quickly found people to spend lunch with. Then lunch became something I looked forward to, rather than something to dread.

Episode 1: These Are Bread Crusts

HNNNNNNNGGGGG! I swear where were all these shows last season. Ughhhhh all this cuteness is gonna kill me. That being said I really liked this, like a lot.

The main three are a fun bunch. Hayama is a savage, Futaba being a walking black hole, and Yoko with her cute ass "Desu wa". I'm starting to wonder if she was really rich in the first place.

I really want to see what Hayama said to pink haired girl. Bet you she spit some fire. However I do hope to see more of pink haired girl, considring she's on the poster and all.

And now I begin to contemplate which CGDCT show I will enjoy the most cause all of them are great and it's giving me diabetes but this one is definitely up there, looking forward to the next one.

Cute and fun if generally mindless. Not amazing by any means but it's still enjoyable and not at all offensive.

Three Leaves Three Colors ** EP 1 / These Are Bread Crusts

A simple funny but clean anime about a rich girl Yoko Nishikawa who went broke is clueless about food and lives on Bread Crusts but is befriended by two zany girls in a heartwarming show. If you liked Wakaba Girl / Hello!! KINMOZA you kinda get it.

Futaba Odagiri is incredibly energetic but is also a glutton

Teru Hayama looks like an angel but she is really a demonic class president .

** All three high school girls have the kanji for "leaf" in their name but could not be any different from one another.

There's a ton of great stuff about this show, with some notable weaknesses. As many have noticed by now, the animation is highly detailed and lovely. The art looks amazing, but if you aren't noticing the incredible use of color you're really missing out.
Every background shot seems like it could be a painting.

I tried looking up the VA's and was surprised. So far there are occasional awkward, lengthy pauses in dialogue that seem out of place. Then again nothing has really happened yet. Let's see where this is heading.

Ep 1

Ahhh this was so nice! It's really pretty to look at with the fluid animation and bright colors. So many of the cute girls this season seem to like bread, apparently. Poor Yoko tries so hard to keep her new friends. I laughed at the rice balls she made and how Futaba just ate clumps of the unseasoned stuff anyway. Very simplistic, even for a SoL/CGDCT show, but no less enjoyable. I was worried about there only being 3 main girls, but I'm enjoying their personalities so far.

A glutton, a rich girl, and a class president ...
