I know it's a nasty habit but I enjoy gossiping every now and then.

Depends.

What exact type of gossip? Two face gossip? Or just talking about other peoples stuff?

And if its just gossip in general my answer I suppose would be.... Maybe?

I'm kinda of indifferent about it.

I only participate in gossip when others start the conversation. And when I do I don't really mind it.

I guess depending on what it is, I will listen...ex. possible job positions opening up and other changes in the workplace though not official and may or may not go through.

If it is a bunch of mess; not interested.

If I am talking, it is usually to my friend about my own business...self-gossip? /shrug, lol.

No, I can't stand it when people weren't honest about each other or prying my business into someone else dilemma. I find it disrespectful being catty and I know if someone was being catty about me; I'll hate it too.

I'll tend to ignore it... move on.

I do! Ha. Ohohoho!

It's not such a bad thing either. Sometimes gossiping with someone means listening, while another person vents.

Gabbing about minor things that don't mean much to the person, but gets it out of their system.

When I was in HS, I used to be the friend that people would tell things to. Secret happenings, who likes who, what person A thinks of Person B, etc~

I was a safe confidant, since I was pretty mellow about it all.

Also, gossiping could bring people to laugh!

As long as a person doesn't talk sh!t about a someone behind their back, gossiping is fine.

Show me someone who doesn't 'gossip' and there is someone who has no interest in people.

I'm not sure which condition is worse.

I really don't like gossip for the sake of gossip. Gossip is how misconceptions and rumors get started and it's usually very unfair to whoever the subject of the gossip is about. Now on the other hand if I see something happen like say when a neighbor of mine was arrested my family had some speculation as to what caused the arrest and talked about it a bit, We weren't that far off the mark but once this person got out I talked to them and found out their side of events. But we NEVER go around discussing stuff like t his with other people either. It was just some talk within our family. I guess that would be considered gossip but we definitely try to give people the benefit of the doubt. If it's based on something factual that I've witnessed I'll talk about it a bit. If it's just something I heard I won't even entertain the thought of talking about it.

It's not that some of us don't have an interest in people. It's exactly the opposite. I care about people enough to try hard not to gossip about them. I'm also the kind of person who just likes to mind his own business too unless I absolutely can't. I will admit I am guilty of gossip in a way but not gossip for the sake of gossip. I have a lot of empathy for people but that doesn't mean I want to get all up in their business either. See my post above. I felt horrible when my neighbor was arrested over the holiday's. Even if they did deserve to be arrested it still sucks to sit in jail and their little dogs missed them so bad. I went over and helped feed them until I could get in contact with someone that knew this person better. It's because I care that I don't like to gossip. One can care without spreading potentially false rumors and fanning the flames of speculation.
