Hey guys, I was just wondering if you could give me some suggestions. I am trying to get my friend, who doesn't like anime into watching it, what do you guys suggest? I was thinking of a romance anime, since she really like love movies. Also, what do you guys think of My love Story, as a first anime? Thank you for your suggestions!

if it's a girl Fruits baskets or Chobits. maybe Love Hina or Tenchi Muyo!
Love hina is a little fan servicey and harem though i guess. (Fruits baskest is rather girly, the others for both genders more so).

If she likes romance movies & you want her to get into anime, I say start her off on anime romance movies. A long anime series for a beginner might be a little too intimidating or slow to start for their tastes. The ones I like best that I can think of off the top of my head are 5 Centimeters per Second, The Garden of Words, & Millennium Actress.

First off, My Love Story! is a great first anime, (easily accessible characters and humor; great love story; little fan service), as long as
a) your friend doesn't mind subtitles (as far as I know it hasn't been dubbed yet, though correct me if I'm wrong), and
b) you don't mind explaining a few of the Japanese customs that come up (girls giving chocolate on Valentine's Day, Christmas Eve as a date night, good luck charms, etc.).

Other suggestions:
-- Usagi Drop: Not a romance, but I've had good luck with this one as an introduction to anime. The basic story of a man adopting a young girl is universal.
-- Snow White with Red Hair: If you don't want to worry about explaining Japanese customs, then set the love story in medieval Europe!
-- ef: Tale of Memories: If and only if your friend has an artistic flair; the visuals, and the way they interact with the story-telling, are extremely interesting. (Though there is a bit of fan-service.)
-- Toradora: Has a bit of fan-service (though not a ton) and requires some knowledge of Japanese customs, but there is a pretty good English Dub available and it's a very good love story.
-- Nagi no Asukara (A Lull in the Sea): Also has an English dub, though I'm not a huge fan of it; less about Japanese customs, but has a definite feel of Japanese religion and spirituality through it (for good or bad). Also a pretty good, albeit very slow moving, love story. (Or, more precisely, series of love stories?)

The ones mentioned above are all great! And while I am not a fan of BL (Boys love) this anime was honestly pretty great
Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - World's Greatest First Love

Also Blue Spring Ride
Golden Time
Myself; Yourself.

I've got to fully agree with:

Say I Love You
Blue Spring Ride
Lovely Complex

As starters.

Other possibilities I'd give would be:

The Princess and the Pilot (the movie)
The Pilot's Love Song
Looking Up at the Half Moon
One Week Friends
Plastic Memories
Someday's Dreamers
Someday's Dreamers 2 (aka "Sora" or "Summer Skies")
Into the Forest of Fireflies' Light (aka Hotarubi no Mori e)
