Digging this show. A nice show to follow up after watching "Shin Astashin'chi"

This show might just be too adorable for me.

I mostly liked episode 1 -- the little eggplant scene at the end was such an "awwwww" moment, and most of the absurdity was pretty charming.

However, I do not at all enjoy the frequency of Goma-chan's yips -- that seems way overdone and gets on my nerves.

While a lot of episode 1 felt rather fresh, the antics in episode 2 seemed less so, and I found my interest waning. Sadly, it seems, this will not be a very good Lovely Muco replacement for me.

I'm only on episode 1, but I was watching it with my 4 year old daughter who giggled through the entire first episode.

For me, though, my favorite part came in the closing song when they included random LL Cool J lyrics in the song...

Overall, it's cute and if my kids like it & it's something appropriate, I'll keep at it

This is a really cute show and I like it a lot. I know I am most likely quite outside the target audience (I suspect kindergarten age), it's got a nice vibe. I love the opening theme.

I hope the friends are reunited someday.

Episode 3.

Poor Goma-chan. I felt so bad for him not getting an ice-pop after all that longing, while one melted so close at flipper. It was in fact, more sad than amusing.

I'm 2 episodes in so far and my Pre-K 4 yr old daughter & 1st grader 6 yr old son both are enjoying the show! I'm basically watching it twice - once on my own and a second time with my kids, just to be sure if there's anything confusing I can explain it to them. And for Ep 2, explaining to them what a bathhouse was BEFORE they watched it wasn't as hard as I thought. My 6 YO just said, "So, it's kind of like a really big hot tub." Pretty much.

And me too. That boy is just so sad...

CR gets the manga too:

I'll probably enjoy it more than bratty Crayon Shin-chan and his slightly horrible parents.

So with no episode this week, at least AmiAmi delivered my very own Goma-Chan.

Much bigger than I expected, about 18" long.

Episode 7

Great episode. Mostly focused on Sugao, who now lives on a mountain in a foreign land. To help Sugao learn the language and hopefully makes friends, his father hired a private tutor who turned out to be rather useless...

But in the end, Sugao even made friends with the Yeti, so all worked out.
