...at this point i don't know anymore i want to side with the girls on the fact that the kind of behaviour that the guys are showing taking photos without permission and putting them online and rating them and writing lewd comments is pretty disgusting...

But then the women keep going on about "Rape culture" so i can't pick there side either....

This has been blowing up in my country over the last few weeks i wanted to share as its like dramatic as hell

Being attracted to women is sexist.

It's harmless. Doesn't matter if they find it disgusting. These women are so weak.

In reverse. Women can also do the same to men and or other women.

Thsee are the liberties many have fought for and framed for. To be able to express your opunions. Some just take these liberties to the extreme where it becomes topics like this.

People should read the article. Those women said a lot of solid stuff that made a lot of sense. Good on them.

"“I’ve been on there for a year and not one person has approached me about it or asked if I’m the girl from the page — I don’t see a rape culture,"

“I think the main point of how I feel is just because somebody is offended does not mean they are right. And it also does not give them the right to shut down the things that offend them,”

PS: Its a little silly to say "females petition", when it was started by a female but pretty much every female voice in the article was against the petition. We don't need to create an "us vs. them" mentality between the sexes...

Melbourne University law student Laura Blandthorn created the Change.org petition to shut down the Hotties of Melbourne University page, because she believed it promoted a rape culture.

This bitch...

well here in the USA, taking photos is covered by the right to free speach, unless its a matter of national security or ur on private property and they ask you not to.

1) Half the pictures on there seem to be men (in fairness I had to look at a cached copy, maybe thats changed significantly, but I doubt it).
B) It seems quite polite except for a couple of cheeky sex jokes
6.3) It lists the degree they're studying - if they where actually going for objectification pointing out your object of lust has a brain too seems like a fail.

Judges ruling - Seems harmless and anyone offended is obviously just bitter they didn't make the list

Hurrah to Ms. Watson. I'm pleased that most of the female students appear to not really give a shit. It's basically the same thing that a ton of people, both male and female, do with their yearbooks. Big whoop.

Also consider the article from the day before: http://www.news.com.au/technology/online/social/a-university-student-has-launched-a-petition-to-get-offensive-facebook-page-removed/news-story/3562513493614494d314dad6264fdfb1

You can believe simultaneously that

1. Rape culture is a thing that exists: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_culture
2. Most men aren't actively out to rape women (that's not even what rape culture means, anyway)

and that

3. Some of the disparaging comments on this Facebook page were satire
4. Others were legitimately terrifying (especially the ones listing girls' schedules)
5. Perhaps the rest were harmless; perhaps not.
6. Some of the women may not have minded being on the site, but that doesn't mean no one minded.

A "hotties" site might not be bad in and of itself, but it seems like it'd be basically impossible to keep perverts out given the penetration of the internet.

So I'm not sure. Human sexuality isn't bad, but humans can be. Though if I were a university administrator I think a site like this would make me pull my hair out, as it's very bad publicity. Melbourne is a public university, but I'm not sure if it's required to give its students free speech.
