I'd be too scared someone will steal my pizza.

The machine in question has it locked inside until it gets to the place and has cameras on it etc so it can catch and thieves or vandalizers on tape :o!

What if it gets hit by lightning? What if a kid decided to keep it as his toy? What if it gets hacked?

So many reasons to rely on human drivers instead.

Lighting - shit happens

Kid- cameras on it

Hacked - Cameras and tracking.

I would rather rely on the robot then a human

Pizza delivery robots, now that's quite something to make Domino's stand out. Seeing that pizza delivery is one of the most dangerous jobs in America with the widespread presence of fake addresses and other stuff that it certainly could have its usefulness. But it's not exactly the most practical thing at the moment.

oh god you just reminded me of the many pizza rape and murder stories i have heard

I don't think any robot would last too long in the USA, perhaps especially in Philadelphia. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/04/us/hitchhiking-robot-safe-in-several-countries-meets-its-end-in-philadelphia.html?_r=0

Studying costs money. We need menial jobs as stepping stones. Not everyone has rich parents like me. Some people have to pay for college themselves.

college shouldn't cost that much if it's costing more then $200 a year then something is wrong with the college system your country has

Im poor and anyone can afford to study atleast in my country you can be living paycheck to paycheck and be fine and able to study.

Right, paycheck to paycheck from a menial job you'll use as a stepping stone.

And I'm sure there are colleges that only cost $200 a year, not that I'd have any experience with places like that.

Where i live though you can choose not to live paycheck to paycheck from a menial job.

I decided not to work to survive instead to study.

The government gives me the money i need to live and survive and i use 20% of it for personal use so i can still do stuff like go out and eat.

It should be the same anywhere you live the government should help you find a place to live and rent and study.

I don't plan to work for the next 5 years and i have only worked 3 jobs in my life short term.

honestly its not that hard from my experience when the government literally gives you what you need to survive...i only get a little extra because i was born with a disability but if i wasn't i would be able to survive on whats given to me alone so im greatful for my country

Technology is advancing and the job market is obviously going to advance with it. Jobs exist to fulfill needs, and when those needs can be fulfilled through alternative means, it's only natural that the jobs will disappear. Otherwise, you might as well be paying one person to dig holes and another person to fill them in.

I think part of the problem is that the education system isn't advancing along with technology (and is garbage in general). I think computer science and possibly some engineering should be part of the core curriculum in at least middle school and high school, if not elementary school as well. Because that's the direction the job market is heading for most first-world nations.

I kind of like the robot. It's cute. Now if I can equip it with a cute Japanese body and the right head(lol) on it's shoulder..I'd give it a ring!

People don't like change.
They should rage at engineers for building a better tomorrow with different jobs that never existed before robots.

Unrelated
I wonder what defences the robot has to protect it's self from hungry hungry hobos.

You realize the actual cost, even in Oz, is much more than that right? Your $200 tuition is that way because everyone who is actually working is subsidizing your school through taxes. How many credit hours is that anyway? Tuituion for a two-year institution here is usually in the range of 5-700 for a "full time" load of 12 credit hours for one semester.
