No. I have zero patience for kids, so unless my mom wants to raise them then it's not happening.
Also I'd have to find a husband or boyfriend (lol )

So is this selfish of me? How do you feel about this?

No, it is not selfish! You're not obligated to go by the norm of society. You don't have to have kids just because you are a female. And honestly not all babies are cute. I also don't understand why people gush over plain looking babies. Plus I hear so many people tell me that once you have kids, your life is over, or it turns into a nightmare, or sayonara to your sexlife etc. etc. Hearing that, where's the good part?

Plus I'm sure you don't live within the lifestyle of an agricultural farming tribe, so there's no need for you to pop out babies to help tend the crops.

I think ever since I hit my 20's my mom kept badgering me about giving her some grandchildren. I'm 28 now, and she already has supplies, toys and clothing bought for any babies I have. I honestly don't want any yet because I'd send them to boarding school when they're allowed to, and I couldn't afford boarding school right now. I do plan on having some, just not in the mindset for it. I'd rather accomplish as much as I can from my list of goals before I start even considering settling down for some kids.

On top of that, I'm still pretty much a kid-like person.

Nah, it's not selfish.

No, however it isn't really up to you, but them. But no, it isn't selfish to voice your opinion.

It is completely up to you whenever you want to have a child or not in our current western society. Your parents most likely will be disappointed; that is reality. I believe the majority of people want to have children (Though I don't really have any figures). For me personally, not having a child goes against my entire existence. I do wish to have one in the future and I cannot understand the lack of will to have one but that's okay.

No, it's not. You should never have children unless you both want them and can give them a start in a life of quality. ( and I don't mean just money}
Take it from me, it is destructive and selfish to have children that you don't want.

I guess it's good for you that your parents didn't take this viewpoint.

If the focus is on them being grandparents rather than you being a parent, that's a poor reason to have kids. If you're not interested in having kids, that shouldn't be a slight against your parents. Grandparenting is part time, parenting is full time.

Doesn't really matter if it's selfish or not. It's a personal decision on your part and regardless of your reasoning it is your decision alone whether to pursue that or not.

I chose not to have children, much to the disappointment of my parents as well (though they have my younger brother to carry on the line). How others feel about your decision doesn't matter. It's your life and you live it as you please. They did things their way and you can do yours your way. It's as simple as that.
