I could not watch episode 3 of Lost Village on Roku on my tv tonight because it was blurry plus the dialog/ subtitle timing was not in synch. What's the problem? I always watch my Chruncyroll shows on the television, not the computer (disabled flash drive) and they have always shown excellently. Please have a close look at your posting of this episode because it just isn't watchable!

This is just something that used to happen much more frequently before, it's actually gotten a lot better of late.

Devices have hard-coded subs at each resolution in each language, that is to say, instead of only four total resolution files for the PC (because subs are a separate stream), it requires actual encoding to place a sub on a file.

And that has to be done for each language they sub, which in the case of this title, there are 8 of them, so they have to distribute 32 files for each device type. Not only that, not all devices use the same file format, so those 32 files also has to be repeated for each different type, whether IOS/Android/Roku, etc. Device updates just take longer because of that; the lower res files will become available sooner than the higher res ones because they are smaller.

All you can do is try to be patient... In the past it didn't usually take more than an hour, sometimes less, unless they had a lot else going on at the same time.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll exercise a little patience and be more aware in the future. I was concerned because this is the only time I've seen this happen and all the other content on Chrunchyroll on the Roku has been gorgeous. Again, I appreciate the info!

Try logging out and back in to clear the cache. If that does not help, the issue should usually be resolved within 20-30 minutes after launch.
