While I don't condone what this young woman did, nor obviously what the man did in raping her friend, according to the article I read about this earlier today on Yahoo! News they had been drinking. The guy, Gates, had bought the two young women a bottle of vodka that they had been drinking before the rape happened. While I feel that the young woman Lonina should have done more to help her friend, she may not have been in the right state of mind to do so if she had been drinking. Either way, it's terrible what happened and terrible that she didn't do more to help her friend.

Link to the article. There's a picture of the guy too, and you can tell in his eyes that he's no good.

her lawyer now saying she only streamed the rape to collect evidence LOL lawyers are such fuckin scumbags they get to tell obvious lies to the court even though that's suppose to be illegal.

and everyone just pretends like they believe them even though they don't.

I agree with you Detsayune. It is a serious problem it seems. And all I can say is "WTF is wrong with these ppl?" you know? I mean I believe though, that regardless of how one is raised or where they come from, we are all born with the sence of knowing the difference between right and wrong. To me, there's no excuse for it...

This. I couldn't agree more that the failure to pass down common-sense morality to the next generation has resulted in the chaos currently running rampant in our culture. That someone could claim to be "innocent" after participating in the live streaming of a rape is not only a sign of mental deficiency, but a decay of conscience as well.
what? running rampant?
many things could factor in why she did record it but most would point out that she didn't act how a friend would be, but it also could show the bonding of that "friendship" allowing things to happend to their "friend" or they where quite friends but she found it more "innocent"/playfull at the time or a guilty pleasure.
atleast this shows to the other girl how of a "friend" she was.

Women aren't solely to blame in this. Its society as a whole that allows this type of heinous crap to go on. I haven't any idea what got into the heads of the defendants to do something so idiotically stupid, not to mention cruel, but it's the very nature of this sort of thing that unless law makers step in and make an example of these people to them the world know that its not going to stand for crap like this, it'll will go on and on.

I love how the female is maintaining her innocence....what planet did she come from and what possessed her to do this??? Lady, you're one twisted f*** and I hope you rot in jail forever!!!!

I'm sorry, Freddy96NO, but in order to respond, I'll need you to clarify something. Are you of the persuasion that recording the rape may have been an acceptable response? I didn't quite understand your question.

okey such mumbling.. and now with more...

Reminding of their age (comes with emotions and etc), and dunno how much they drank before all this and what they did.
If they,
Was going to his place for drinking in the first place,
How they acted at his place or to that moment could suggest few things.

and they are suppost to be friends shopping together?
How much of a "bond" do they have, and could it mean the one that recorded did have some wild/"dark" thoughs about her friend?
Everyone has their secrets and issues to deal with and by all this I begin to dislike all 3 of them while 2 a bit more.
Why didn't she respond or with anything "better" or helpfull things, or try to get him away or off her?
Did she enjoy some of that, and could it be some grudge from few days ago or something in general? (from looks, other/more friends, relationship/rep/fame or being a bitch and she knows it)
or anything else also could it have been planned by the 2 to get onto her?

Drinking is not an excuse. It isn't an excuse for any other type of severe crime, either. If it isn't an excuse for drunk driving or murder, then it isn't for rape. Personal responsibility is still a thing, after all. Actually rationalizing this at all is kinda... gross, really. :/

It was somewhat hard to accept the fact that something like this happened when I first read it. There are less and less people who value their humanity and pride of being civilized over their desires and popularity now days. It has always existed in the world that's a given but, it seems far worse now than it was back then.
