It really depends on what you are classifying as CG. There is a definitive boundary between CGI and 3DCGI. I would agree that in some animations, the latter is disappointing, but computer generated images can cut production costs and turn around time. Depending on how it is employed, the "hand drawn" appearance can be had through software as well.

Well that's moving with the times....

Although, I'm more of old school animation. CG is more better;
in terms of production cost and time. But traditionall animation won't
go away.
