Closer, but still a long way to go. The robots in Plastic memory had "sentient" thoughts. These are still fairly unflexible when it comes to that.

Still cool though.

In an article I read on her the creator stated that she can actually learn from experiences as well. That fact in itself blew me away.

The issue with that "learning" is like the problem Microsoft came up with. Their "Nazi-bot." It cant learn what is good or bad, but it does learn! You would need a way to filter it... that way it knows what to learn and what not to learn.

Which is exactly where my uneasiness comes in. While "she" can learn to do things "she" has no conscience which is where my worries come in.

When they have sentient thoughts, that's when I would get disturbed because it's like a living thing now and should be given rights.

I highly doubt that would happen though, we don't even understand how our consciousness works, much less try to recreate it without biomaterial. The closest thing they could get is highly programmed randomized behavior.

That's all humans are highly randomised behaviour via chemical reactions.

A highly programmed randomised behaviour is very close to us

I am sure with the correct knowledge and programming, you can create a "conscience". However, we do not have the technology or the understanding to replicate that.

Kind of like in plastic memories (ofc). They could feel emotion and whatnot. We may reach that time some day, but not for a looooong time.
