Oh damn it looks like finaly a AAA-title I could "trust" (hitman not very, atleast with its maps/epsodic releases)

IGN - Mafia 3: 12 Minutes of Developer-Narrated Gameplay
https://youtu.be/_Xtq18Vmh3s

Sadly from that 12m video I wasn't liking the world design..
and seems its going to be more chaos then some "classic" themed style to it (when in battle and the MC and the MC being a bit more of a super hero/veteran from war then a "normal" person with... their own skills)

the world design don't seem to be as uniqe as the old ones (very same like buildings/streets and locations with some difference as the older ones seem to be more special then this one being more generic)

yeah I know its a bit old but here a bit of gameplay from Mafia 2

Joe wasn't part of the agreement, though, and Lincoln Clay... He's no Vito.
Watching the video, I don't really see why he wouldn't be more like a 'veteran from war', since he is. Vietnam. Vito was a "veteran" of World War II. The city design is very much like the real version of the city.

I'm just concerned that he's going to become the James Heller of the Mafia series. Just endlessly being angry without a lot of character development.

What I got from it, that it isn't a "real" typical/classic verison of Mafia or the more italian type (also the others in the series was more "adult" like in both humor and how everyone was) miss that.

That it foces too much on american racism (the age they are in) that they also get in a more gangsta like community with a "super human" that is too COD like with how you battle with him rather then the classic fights in Mafia 2 (about the MC and world had a more mafia themed/styled version and that this is not getting me drawn to it only for another decent FPS/TPS)

So I would say this game right now and the title it uses got a identity crisis.

The gameplay maybe decent but not how the environment are that will make me keep playing it (from the more "serious" grey times of the mafia's going around then this messy "horde" attacking and more independent style of doing things not a team related battles like mafias mostly do)

I haven't played Call of Duty, so I can't say about that. There is a rather... loud subset of people who would piss themselves if they did not in some way focus on The American Racism, but as to it being more 'messy', I can look back at Mafia II and see that shift, especially at points like the hotel.
If you mean about them only showing him entering these combats and tearing things up, they stated a couple times during the 12 minute video/interview that they had made it so that it looked good, and it will be different in the actual game. Fewer explosions, I imagine enemies being less killable. It doesn't look good if the main character dies during the game footage.

Well sure but how its implemented can have its down side to your mafia side if its not mixed up nicely.
I bet there was some racial prefrences in the mafia's, but from what I know many of them didn't care so long you could get the work done.

yeah...I overreacted (or wanted something to say) a bit on that its bad or different.
But there are few bits that are different to the place they are in (to the level design and just overall that Mafia feeling even if their name goes by Mafia 3 with a totally different look in some places).

I know about how they like to have things easier and such for demonstration purposes, dunno how much could be different ingame as well I wouldn't care about explosions unless its a more mayham/arcade to a bit like Saint Row style... not a Mafia game.
I guess, I would rather go for Darkness 2 (did it quite good on some of the Mafia life of the MC) insted as I don't have that one and its cheap now (maybe wait for sale in summer)

Even Saint Row the Third made me feel more of a badass and some how a mafia boss as well. (also have to fix some of what I said above hope you can read them XP)
