should just ignore it. it's exactly what I'm doing.

Rohan has a shirt for that.

That's actually a great way to put it. I had that same feeling when I found it. The same feeling when I found Dragon Ball and Pokemon as a child, and Naruto and One Piece as a teen. It's like the grown-up version of that "geek-out, binge watch and read the whole thing, remember pointless trivia, recommend it to everybody, reference it in your username, buy a shirt so everyone knows you love it" kind of feeling.

And it's awesome.

When or if you're done Part 3, move on to the manga. It's my favourite manga series for sure.

This makes me want to watch it even less than I already do though...

But it's nothing like those shows... I think he was trying to say that it felt nostalgic watching it.

Oh... But now I see another guy explicitly comparing it to shounen.

D: it is light on cute girls, but big on fun

I can understand people being put off by certain things, but I've been in love with the series since I first saw it

Helps that I'm a really big Persona fan, and Jojo is pretty obviously what inspired that

Well the characters design bother me a little bit, but that doesn't really stop me from watching things. It's mainly just because I remember hearing something about how they win all their fights in one hit.

Oh yeah his shorts are nice, too. But pffft. As if Rohan wears anything off the rack.

I think I know what he means. JJBA is from the 80's, so a lot of shounen manga after it have similar traits. Just like how JJBA influenced some Street Fighter characters. There's going to be minor similarities, but the way the series is executed sets it apart from the rest of the shounen shows you're worried about. JJBA is so ridiculous and over the top on purpose, and it also knows how to be serious at the right moments. Take this from someone who hates Naruto and all those other popular shounen shows from over 10 years ago (except DBZ. I can't hate that.) JJBA is a hundred times better. If anything, this show is what all those other shounen shows tried to be but failed halfway.

The interesting thing about the character designs is how the art style has changed over decades. It starts as as overly muscular men, then they get thinner and the texture looks smoother as we're seeing now with Diamond is Unbreakable. And from the images I've seen of Part 5, the designs go through another major change... a very surprising change...

As for the fights ending with one hit, I think whoever you heard that from was probably talking about Jotaro in Part 3. I don't recall the first two parts being like that since the main fighting power back then was a little more direct. Stands weren't introduced until Part 3.

Even if a lot of fights end with the enemy getting punched, all the fights are unique. The fights are less about how to finish off the enemy and more about how to approach and outsmart the enemy. There's no limit to what kind of crazy ability a Stand user will have, so Araki (the mangaka) got more creative with their powers over time. It's really fun to look at how ordinary the Stands were at the beginning of Part 3 (and they already pretty crazy to begin with) compared to the insane Stands at the end of Part 3 that I never would've imagined. Now the main character in Part 4 has an even more bizarre (pun intended) Stand and from what I know, they just keep getting crazier. That's what makes the fights so unique. They're all about discovering an enemy Stand's individual weakness and using any tricks possible to stay alive until then. The fights in Part 2 were pretty fun to watch too despite being before Stands were created since the main character there is a trickster himself and the fights between the main characters and the villains were more personal compared to a lot of the minor "villain of the week" that happens later on.

And I'm just going to stop here since I think I've already said more than I intended to...

I make it a habit to wear things off the rack. I couldn't pull off anything too risque with my physique

Fellas/Ladies, if you could keep on topic..that would be great. As for the confusion of anime elements, JoJo was a shounen manga. Therefore, there are elements similar to those of other shounen anime. It was not till later did the author swap to Seinen for more creative freedom.
