I always go to Chick-fil-a. I order a #1 meal with no pickles and added Colby Jack and Pepper Jack Cheeses. Then I replace my drink with a Large Frosted Lemonade. Then I sit down, eat, and die inside wishing that my whole life could be as good as that tasted

I do not enjoy fast food, so I will normally look for a little cafe or deli with fresh sandwiches or salad. I don't enjoy heavy meals during the daytime either. If I can find somewhere that I can also enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee afterward, even better.

If its fast food, whatever Im in the mood for, whether its at a mexican restaurant (not taco bell), something italian, or kfc. Preferably home-cooked meals to eating out, though.

Usually I bring my own lunch to save money, but if I go out, I go to Panera.

Except in other parts of the city, where they call it Gyros.

Has anyone here been to subway or is it purely Australian? It's a fast food joint that does subs.

I've never been to Australia, and I can already tell you, you don't HAVE as many Subways as we do--
They'd infest more places if Starbucks Coffee wasn't keeping them out.

(That said, they are good for a cold meat-and-vegetable crunch-lunch, if a Panera Bread isn't nearby.)

Every time someone says something about Starbucks I instantly think of Starbursts and that leads me to believe Americans have starbursts for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There's a Chipotle within walking distance from my house.

You're lucky, it makes me think of Battlestar Galactica. (The old version.)

Assuming they haven't spread there yet, they're the hip, premium coffeehouse that's EVERYWHERE. On every corner, in every bookshop and grocery, and literally every direction you turn. With the new unpopularity of fast-food, I'm pretty sure Starbucks has out-saturated McDonald's by now, but I haven't seen the statistics.
As one of our local libertarian bumper-stickers puts it, "Make your OWN damn coffee."

(I dunno, maybe Australians have a similar chain with beer?)

Yeah we have a couple but it's not that popular. People over here prefer the back alley indie, edgy coffee joints which are literally disguised like a hobbit hole.

I bring my own lunch to work, leave the office and walk down to the waterfront to eat. Except during inclement weather conditions of course.

I usually would just pick up some stuff from a close by grocery store. If I had to go to an actual restaurant I would go to this local one called Holy Cow! They serve pretty good burgers. Or I would go to this other place Called picknic and eat whatever they have since I'm pretty sure they switch up their menu from time to time.
