He was a crazy guy for sure.
His team of lawyers once sent Wierd Al a telegram telling him not to make eye contact with Prince during an award show.

Very likely due to Prince being no fan of Weird Al's accordion-polka versions of "1999" and "When Doves Cry"--
The relationship between the two were always a bit strained after that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD4rYdK3y9A

There were also very likely commitments that famously kept him from participating in USA For Africa with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones and all the rest, but at the time, we took it to be more selfish assery.

I've also heard that he would tell his girlfriends to put on make up before getting in bed with him.

Oh, anyone who's seen his videos, or Purple Rain, or his other weird self-directed vanity "movies" knows he could be a bit....misogynistic, if you know what I mean.
And I Think You Do. He wasn't exactly subtle about that, either.

He was one of the first to be somewhat of a gender bender. So what?

Madonna had some raunchy stuff back in the day too.

He rarely even allowed his music to be published on youtube, I doubt he was on Spotify to begin with. I remember searching for his music months ago and there were barely any on streaming sites.

He had a few songs on Spotify, but they have been removed. You were "months" late checking. LOL

The news of his passing came as a shock to me when I heard it.

Most of the folks @ work that are in my age group basically listened to his music all day.
I read online that MTV was actually playing music videos, which is downright incredible.
When I got home they were still showing his videos, which I watched for a while. VH1 was showing Purple Rain.
Thinking about it, it makes sense that MTV & VH1, as Prince's music and videos are woven into their history, probably as much as Michael Jackson and Madonna are.
Earlier, I realized that it was the same way for my own life, as when certain songs played my mind went back to those moments when the songs coincided with various points in my life - good, bad, or strange. It got a bit overwhelming during "Thieves in the Temple," which still seems odd.
I think I may have blocked out whatever was going on when the song came out. Ah. 1990. Of course. That was when my grandfather passed away halfway through my senior year of high school. Listening to music was one of my only outlets at the time, and I guess that song dragged me back to that place. I had to take a break before continuing to be honest.

It's still kind of surreal that he's gone. A truly sad day.

I don't listen to music due to being deaf, well I don't understand what they're saying.. But I do turn on Radio in Truck if I'm really really bored and must hear something (wear hearing aids).

What I'm saying is that, Prince is obiviously famous or otherwise I wouldn't heard of him since I'm not into music.. I remembered hearing his name in movies.

He was definitely a talented individual who had a massive impact on pop music and left a lasting impression on many. It is sad to see such a soul pass away so young. He will live on forever in the hearts of many and through his music

Hurts and makes me even more upset since I never saw him live. That will always be in my conscience.

Prince, Chyna, Doris Roberts (from Everybody Loves Raymond) and Percy Sledge all died in the last week. Celebrities tend to die in clusters. It's a scary thing. Can't help but miss them all.

2016 is a bad year to be a famous musician, especially one popular during the 1980s.
