Post Reply Do you like luxury?

Who doesn't?
With luxury, comes aesthetics. You go into a non-luxurious restaurant, and the decorations are not as nice, or the cutleries are old and the wait staffs are cranky. Go into a luxurious one, it's more pleasing to the eyes, and staffs will pour water/wine for you, it makes the experience more enjoyable.

Always been a firm believer of "you get what you pay for" so yeah, I'll usually take the name brand stuff before the generic brands any day.
They are almost always of better quality.

On a whole, no. Where I am concerned, I find the whole premise of living in luxury creepy and frivolous. I don't like the idea of wearing a dress that could feed a family of five for six months. The only time I spend a lot on stuff is where it counts (or for stuff for other people). It is important to have stuff that wont fall to bits on you when you use it often.

I do not tend to splurge on things very often. I can understand if you are investing in something such as a home or vehicle that you plan on keeping for sometime or is an investment, and I do not hold anything against those who live a more lavish lifestyle. Admittedly, luxury is very nice. I mean, that is the attraction after all. I do go for quality over quantity, but I am not sure that always counts as luxury. I just tend to have my priorities elsewhere at this point in my life

Depends on how you define luxury. If you mean eating out for lunch frequently, then yes. If you mean owning expensive possessions, then no. Even my car is old and beat up.

If luxury means owning goods that can be easily replaced, then yes. I bought my chopsticks at Daiso Japan for $1.50, and a lot of my dishes for the same price. Luxury is an interestingly subjective thing. Depending on perspective, cheap things can be luxury items, and cheap restaurants ideal because you can have more than you could typically afford. Additionally, those $1.50 polka-dot melamine divider plates are super adorable.

I like luxury in terms of craftsmanship, quality, artisanship, bespoke. Not the name brand or label that's attached to it. That's for possessions.

I like luxury experiences that result in bliss, happiness, complete relaxation, no worries. That could be a vacation on a private island, or a day at a spa retreat.

I still like getting your normal average-priced things. I won't go out of my way to make sure what I buy is considered luxurious. I'll get it if I like it, or if it makes sense for me to get it.

Anything that can make you happy is a luxury. One isn't born to deserve everything in life.

Yes, there is a time for it. Then there is a time to enjoy the opposite.

I like luxury as in materialistic things like a mansion or a nice car. I also like luxury as having a nice life with no worries (hakuna matata)
