I loved Origins, I even had to get it on PC too just so I could play it away from home. When I get DA2 I enjoyed it for a while but I never went back and replayed it. I didn't really gel with the characters much but I might have to give it another go. But DAI was such a big disappointment for me. I really liked the sound of the game and the ideas they had come up with but whilst playing it I just constantly thought that it felt rushed and that they could do a bit better with it. Sometimes I wondered if the choices I was making were even going to make a difference or make it replayable. I finished the game but I didn't get to 100%. I enjoyed the dragon fights but that was about it. ;___; I just wonder if I'm missing something or there was a better way to play than how I did.

I liked Origins, I even liked DAII so much so I got every single piece of DLC for it , even the limited time stuff and some of the retailer exclusive stuff, bought three separate copies of the game for that purpose alone.

Inquisition on the other hand was such a disappointment. Even on the Xbox One it looked downright ugly and what they did to Cassandra's character model was criminal. Also I missed DAII romance interests being all bisexual. Inquisition loses major points for only having two bloody bisexual love interests and making the rest only hetero or gay or lesbian.

Also gameplay was a bastard child of the worse parts of Origins and DAII . And having no Warden in game and only a brief appearance of Hawke also makes it loses points .

And even after buying the DLC and 100% the game that ending was so fucking weak sauce. I din't want a new hero I wanted a proper wrap up of Origins and DAII . Instead I got something that felt like sequel bait despite EA saying Inquisition is it.

I hated the game play initailly. But i stuck to keyboard and mouse, despite being tempted to try it with a control pad.
Once i got used to the controls i thiought they were fine.

I had no issue with the controls of Inquisition , gameplay does equal a hatred of what I have in my hands. Inquisition's problems were with the pacing of actual play. As in the freaking thing couldn't make up its mind if it was a tactical pause and consider or an action combo based rpg ala Devil May Cry.

I thought it was pretty good overall. But sometimes tactics mode was annoying due to bad camera angles and fighting with the camera. And there were times where a fair bit of button mashing was going on, similar to DA2 i guess.
I found it was pretty much entirely up to you. Whether or not you used tactics mode or not. I personally used it right at the start of the battle , for all four party members. Then after that i only used it every so often to manually get the party members i was not controlling to use a specific ability or cast a specific spell.
I used it alot when characters needed healing i think. I would switch between the charcter i was controlling, and i used it alot to maunally move the mage/direct the mage where to go when he/she kept getting too close to combat. Especially against the dragons that draw you all in.
To me it was necessary to use tactics mode but nothing at all like in Origins or say Baldurs gate or something. You could probably get away with not even using it but i liked using it to initiate combat and the things i already mentioned.

I still say DAII got it right. With it it's gambit system ya could program the AI to the point it could basically handle all the fighting by itself on everything but the highest difficulty settings.

Hmm well i think Inqusition was a much much better game but i guess you're right in that regard. In inqusition you did need to manually control or instruct your party members more.
They were a bit stupid at times. At least the mages were good at casting protective barries and the like. The no healing magic meant having to manually heal more. I think there was healing spells in Origin and DAII?
But yeah i still see Inquisition as an attempt to mash up origins and DAII.

Yup! Origins is the game I have replayed the most times :-) Also enjoyed DA2 despite all the faults that could have been fixed with a slightly longer development.

As for Inquisition, I hated the first playthrough, I pretty much forced myself through that one, I could not stand the controls on neither keyboard & mouse nor controller. Once they'd patched it I was OK with the controls at least. And honestly, as much as some of the scenery is gorgeous, some maps are simply too big for no good reason. It feels like they made huge maps for the sake of having huge maps. And the story is a bit lacklustre as well.
