If it were continued it wouldn't be as good as the original

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realise you can SEE THE FUTURE.

I guess I should have guessed, given the nature of the anime in question. You're undoubtedly here to prevent the production of the most Godawful anime ever made, which drove the creator to suicide just before angry mobs locked up all the fans and made them eat bugs.

Thank you for condescending me over my opinion. I'm sure you feel great when people talk down to you in a sarcastic manner.

In terms of continuing the stories of the first season, no thanks. While I have my issues with the last two episodes, a conclusion was reached, and it was the kind where inventing new conflict for the people involved would just feel mean.

A second season with different people and a new mystery could be interesting, though. I really doubt they'd go there, but the concept of revival is so much fun that I'd love seeing it again.

And what exactly were you doing, when I suggested a potential premise for a second season?

I gave my opinion and my reasoning behind it. I didn't condescend you or talk down to you.

As long the manga is still on-going, It should.

Perhaps you should have had a smarter opinion.

Wow. Not only do you accuse me of being a hypocrite but now you continue by saying this. You really don't see how rude you're being. This isn't some competition between us. You're just being rude. Over what. A hypothetical second season of an anime? I'm done here.

Yes I do! I just think it is far more important to tell you that basing an opinion on something you made up is stupid.

It isn't just made up. It's made up from experience. We're talking about a show that is already finished.and everything in it is closed up. All the questions are answered. A second season would basically be a sequel. How many sequels do you know that are better than the original. Like 5 at the max? So don't sit there and disrespect me because you don't know that a second season would be good either.

Which would be why I didn't SAY a second season would be good. I just said I'd like to see one.

You, on the other hand, DID say a second season would be WORSE than the first. In fact, you speculated that it would be so bad, people would lose interest in the first season.

That is not how it works. When a movie has a bad sequel, that does not contaminate the original.

Have you seen American Psycho 2, where Mila Kunis plays the lead role? It's... a pretty bad movie. Like, truly awful. But she's hot, so I've seen it like three times anyway. (I like Ukrainian chicks.)

But the original American Psycho is still awfully popular among people who like that kind of thing. It had a terrible sequel, but it continues to stand on its own merits.

What you have observed - that sequels are usually worse than the original - ignores two salient facts. First, that a bad sequel doesn't affect the original, as I've already explained. And second, that when the original is especially good, a sequel can be worse than the original and still be good.

Your reasoning is flawed, even when you back away from the shit you made up and replace it with a real observation. But it's better than what you made up.

I feel the same. It was a great series, but it is complete. Sometimes great things are spoiled when over done.

Have to agree. There were no unsolved mysteries and the protagonist overcame his personal angst and inner demons. There's nothing more to say in this story.

That said, a spin off might be nice with a new character with a similar ability and a new mystery.

It's such a good anime in its own right. I'm afraid what would happen if anyone added to it.
The arc was perfect and tied up nicely.

Honestly, No. I loved Erased (Seriously if you haven't already watched it, do it now!) but the show already met it's conclusion. While it'd be nice to see the characters again, I'd rather the show be left alone and not see characters and plots be dragged.

what i want is a better ending. i really liked Erased, but how everything got resolved, not a fan. if they could fix that i'd be happier than a second season, since it did tie everything up.

Nah. I liked it, but as others have said the story's been told. There's nothing more to add to it.
