Producer, Straight Edge founder, and former Dengeki Bunko Editor-in-Chief Kazuma Miki posted on his official Twitter account on Monday regarding the possibility of a third season of the A Certain Magical Index anime. He writes:

"Please understand that this is an unofficial statement. I am always receiving everyone's passionate opinions on this. Index anime [season 3] is plausible, so please wait!!"

Just so that people know, a third season of Index is actually possible in the future. It's just a matter of time.

I feel like its so close! There isn't a series I've wanted another season for more than Index. Any day now, any day. Back to reading the light novel until then.

Not holding my breath waiting. Key words are: plausible and future. But I would welcome a 3rd season. But we need more Railgun too.

SAO/A Certain Magical Index Editor Leaves Kadokawa to Form New Firm ANN NEWS

Company to focus on managing writing talent, producing content

http://straightedge.jp/

Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko Editor-in-Chief Kazuma Miki left the company on March 31 and started a new company called Straight Edge on April 1. Kazutomo Suzuki, executive manager at Kadokawa's ASCII Media Works, is also tied to the new company as a board member.

The new company's focus will be on managing talent and producing content such as publications and animation. The title of the company refers to how it plans to help writers by offering guidelines along which they can draw a path to their goals. The new company has not announced plans to print its own titles.

Contracted writers include Kazuma Kamachi (A Certain Magical Index, Heavy Object), Reki Kawahara (Sword Art Online, Accel World), Tsutomu Satou (The Irregular at Magic High School), and Tsukasa Fushimi (Oreimo, Eromanga Sensei).

The company has a capital stock of 9.9 million yen (about US$91,500).

Miki joined the editorial department of Dengeki Bunko in 2001, when he worked on Shakugan no Shana, and became editor-in-chief in 2014. He served as editor on titles such as A Certain Magical Index, Sword Art Online, and The Irregular at Magic High School, and was also a producer on their respective anime adaptations. Kadokawa published his autobiographical book Omoshirokereba Nandemo Ari: Hakkō Ruikei 6,000-man-bu ― Toaru Henshū no Life Work (If It's Interesting It Can Be Anything: 60 Million Copies in Print ― A Certain Editor's Life Work).

Miki appeared at a Dengeki stage event as recently as last month, when he appeared at the Dengeki Bunko Spring Festival 2016. He also appeared at Seattle's Sakura-Con last month as a producer on Sword Art Online.
