Anything over-hyped because it never lives up to expections... well almost never. Food Wars was amazeballs, but you get the jist.

I'm looking at you OPM, MM, etc...

Funny, we have the same point of view about over-hyped shows, yet we're complete opposites. I don't like Food Wars at all, yet I love One Punch Man

So many cliches. I foolishly held a belief it would get better.....it did not.

I finished watching this a while ago.

I'll have to disagree on it not getting better, but that is more to do with the beginning being so cliched that it felt like "paint by the numbers".

I will give them credit for not falling to one cliche; instead of squeaking through a win on their first match against another E-rank team, they lost decisively.

Another point I'll give them is that his entire class wasn't converted to his harem by the end. For a moment, I thought perhaps none of them would develop a romantic interest, but that was short lived. There was even glimmer that one of them might develop a relationship instead with one of his former teammates, which would thwart the usual pattern.

It is far harder to recall those animes one has given up on, and simply would prefer to forget about as a bad experience. Especially as I usually can tell within 3-7 ep. that something won't be for me, for whatever reason. A common reason is too much fanservice, which I just find annoying. Another can be overconvoluted political intrigue that seems suddenly brought in as plot element just because. Too tiresome.

But a few that I do recall are:
- Naruto, as I didn't like the MC, and found after about 5 ep. that I still wasn't into it, to just admit it wasn't my thing.
-Magical Index, while the start was intriguing, it quickly went downhill. Frankly remains an example of a promising storyline ruined by a mixture of fanservice, and poor characterization (Index!!)
-Fairy Tale, after about ep, 30 it had become so repetitive, (guild in danger, save guild) that the next story arc's danger was being intro'ed before the current one was even dealt with. Yeah its a given it'll be solved, but still... Too bad, I really enjoyed it at first.

Just those I can think of off the top of my head.

For this anime, I didn't hate the characters or the show, it was just hard to understand.

Serial Experimentations Lain.

I had to watch it 3 times before I figured it out, I just assumed it was because some consider me old.

I'm glad to find out that I wasn't the only one who had trouble with it.

I watched it only once and I was like "huh?" Very confusing that anime. I had to stop because it was just too confusing and I wish I knew what was going on.

The idea is not to stop watching it, the reason it took me 3 viewings to figure it out is because every time I watched it I picked up on something I missed before. The third viewing is where it all came together.

Muromi-San fits the bill here for me. No idea why I decided watching it but it was grueling to finish.

Pupa and Diabolik Lovers. For Halloween, my friend came over and we tried to bridge S1 and everything out during S2 of Diabolik Lovers. It was so hard. We took two breaks and at one point I just walked outside to get a breath. I wish I counted every time we sighed or groaned when the brothers sucked Yui's blood.

Diabolik lovers it's truly awful, I think it has about 5 min of plot near the end. High school of the dead is kindof fun and silly to start with but about half way through I just wanted it to end so badly.

I thought elfen lied was hard to watch... I love the anime but I was just waiting for the next awful thing to happen to the characters.

Infinite Stratos. Seemed like a cool anime, and its semi popular, so I gave it a shot. Maybe it is because I only watched episode one, but I already hated the main character guy. He is such a huge puss and he knows it, its really kinda hard to watch.

I sorta feel this way about hitman reborn it was refred to me by a friend who loved the show but it is so hard to get throuhg the first 20 episodes.

Everyone ive seen who says they like that show mention that it only started getting good after about 25 episodes. I agree with them and think it was worth it, but i can't remember what made me decide to stick it out at first...

I'm pretty sure he's won densest protaginist award.I've seen people use Ichika as a level to describe ridiculously dense harem leads

Hmm. I still don't know about it. I found it to be painful to watch due to it being filled with what I consider to be overused cliches. I mean, yeah, not everyone fell for him, and they didn't manage a win first off, but it's the characters as well. They were so bland in my opinion. That and I dislike the usual tsundere types they use a lot.
