I've recently moved and am having some building work and decorating done in a couple of rooms so my shelf space is severely limited at the moment. The rest of the books are in banana boxes.

I jelly of the first pic. I'd love shelves like that but I live in a tinyass apartment.

Cute kitty by the way

Not my kitty unfortunately, it's a neighbour's that's adopted me as her 2nd home

Still a pretty kitty even sat on a bin.

I am in the process of looking at more bookshelves to purchase, but it ranges from medical and psychology text books to historical fiction, autobiographies, classics and horror. I also have a ton of fantasy collections and am now accumulating graphic novels and manga at a rapid rate. I just enjoy reading.

You could open up your own library
holy moly

If I were to open a library it'd have to be a reading room only, I've lost far too many over the years lending them out. Lent a friend His Dark Materials trilogy a couple of years ago and only The Subtle Knife was returned, most vexing.

Vintage books, that I don't dare open because the pages will quite literally turn to ash.

everything. i have a large collection of various books. looking at the one in my living room the first shelf is pagan/wiccan related books, the second is manga, the third is classic literature, fourth is miscellaneous non-fiction and the complete works of Beatrice Potter and the last two are more manga. the manga are also a variety of genres but most of them are from my shojo days. the whole shelf really needs to be reorganized, i kind of unloaded books when i unpacked and left them, i'll reorder them later, it's a real mess. also many of those books i need to read before acquiring any more so i might be able to clear space if they aren't worth a re-read.

I love to read and collect books so I have tons at home. My cousin even noted that my room is like a library XD
Anyway, most of my books are: novels in the fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, adventure, romance genres; music related books; inspirational/motivational type of books; and many more

I have a small collection on my shelf, and many more stored in an attic. I have a pretty good mix. I have tons of bad fantasy fiction from when I was a kid stored away. I have a good amount of historical non-fiction, a nice selection of classic literature, and some misc. light "coffee table" reading. I also have a huge collection of Science, National Geographic, and Rolling Stone magazines.

Am I the only person who wishes to take a bunch of cheap paperbacks off the shelves to make a book-fort?

I only listen to audio books now while eating gas station hot dogs. What a time to be alive.
