To be honest, these days it seems the more you swear, the cooler you are I swear moderately, not often and I only do it when talking with friends

I swear moderately. More-so when I'm stressed or angry. I don't mind some swearing from others(shit/damn/hell) in everyday conversations, but people who drop the f-bomb as every other word they speak tend to make me uncomfortable very quickly. I avoid people like that. I also strongly disagree with the quote in the OP.

I don't mind swearing here and there. I, myself, don't swear all that much, but a lot of people around me do. I guess it's not so bad unless they use a swear word in between every word. At that point, it's just annoying.

Fine, so long as they know how to use them. Some folks sound utterly ridiculous, because they seem to be just throwing the words and phrases around to be cool, or something.

I think it's amusing that "swear words" are primarily looked down upon so much. It's largely frowned upon for young(er) people to say them, yet adults try and bar other adults from it, too. I shake my head, because it seems that the goal is to cast a flimsy and pretentious shroud of "purity."

That said, the forums do not have rules against swearing specifically as long as it isn't directed at your fellow members with the intention of insulting or hurting them.
But people, do try and watch your tone a little, ok? :)

Now, for myself? I used to swear, a lot, but nowaday's I try to moderate it depending on the situation.
Among kids, I'll try my best not to swear at all, apart from that I don't use diseases as swear words (We Dutch have a tendency to do so, but personally I like to use the words for genitalia more.)

When I stub my toe however, cover your ears!

People that swear are poor speakers.
There's nothing I can say with swear words that I couldn't say faster without swearing.

That would depend on the context, like most swear words that's so vague it may as well be the mindless bleeting and mewing of cattle and beasts.
