The anime adaptation of the popular manga series Bleach ended in the beginning of 2012 leaving many fans feeling let-down. In recent years there has been speculation that the anime will return but nothing official has been announced other than the series' character designer stating it was "still a possibility." I believe that the ideal situation would be if the voice actors for at least the core cast returned and Shiro Sagisu (the series' composer) returned as well. To avoid the criticisms of its predecessor it should have little filler and instead follow the manga's storyline directly. These are just my opinions and I would love to hear the thoughts of anyone else who reads this.

The ideal situation would be the return of the anime once the manga is completed, so we can be sure that there won't be filler, but knowing Pierrot and what they did with Naruto, Bleach would still have a ton of filler even if the manga ended.

If it does get continued, pray that Pierrot doesn't adapt it again.

Honestly, after having seen what a good job they have done with Tokyo Ghoul I'm willing to give them another chance. The amount of filler they flooded it with is the only true qualm I have with them and it wasn't the filler itself but rather the placement of said filler that I disliked. They wedged non-canon arcs into the middle of many of the main ones.

That's actually one of the reasons a lot of us don't trust the studio. They savagely butchered Tokyo Ghoul.

If by that you mean they altered the storyline then yes you'd be right. I read the manga as well but I've enjoyed both versions.

The point is, Pierrot doesn't exactly have a good track record of being faithful to the source material. From what I hear, they didn't do a good job with Bleach either.

We can all agree that the fillers in Bleach were awful, but the episodes that came from the manga I felt were really good, the major problems I think were due to censorship, but that happens with basically any anime today.

But I can also say that Pierrot has already disappointed a lot of people with their latest adaptation of Twin Star Exorcists. They changed quite a few things and even added a new character that wasn't in the manga, whose only purpose is to serve as the mascot for the show. We could say that Pierrot is now a studio feared by many people.

To the best of my knowledge animation studios (like Pierrot) are not the decision-makers. While they are responsible for the hands-on animation production they answer to higher-ups who make all the real decisions.

I think the main problem with bleach is how horribly bad the story has become. The fights all have the same structure, and the plot has become so horribly stupid. Yhwach's plan to overthrow the soul king has no purpose aside from having a fancy name. The killing of the soul king should have also destroyed Hueco Mundo, the Human plane, and any other plane of existence connected to the soul society. The sudden "deus ex machina" appearances of new powers and techniques comes across as lazy, and Ichigo is probably so horribly written, his inner conflicts could be solved by taking a Xanax. All in all, there is no point at making a show for cliche and stale writing.

I don't think the story has gotten sloppy but you're certainly entitled to your opinion. If the manga (which the anime is based off of) was so horrible they wouldn't have been able to keep it going the last five years because nobody would buy it so I'm sure a lot of people disagree.
