Like I've tried for years to be noticed on DA but it feels like everything i post there gets drowned out by everyone else's work.
Where else should I go to make artwork and for people to look at?

Maybe tell people from CR to go to your deviant art. I don't think I've ever really noticed another platform, deviant art was pretty much the only thing I noticed. If you want a following you have to use other means to do so, social media, post some of your work there, post some on CR and put a link to your DA. the only way to get a following is to show people what you have, and sometimes that means to stray from DA itself and find other websites, but obviously always link to your DA page.

Idk, Google can help, Google is pretty good at finding things, but try to use face book, twitter, instagram, YouTube, Google +, anything you can show off some art and link your DA. it's hard to get noticed, but I know how to get followed..... you have to be really really good, or have an idea that people will love and enjoy, because there are thousands of really really good artist out there wanting the same thing. If you're good enough, people will follow, but you have to also create something that people will identify and connect with in some way, it's cheesy to say, but it's the truth. You have to focus on everything that the Internet has to offer, you just can't stick to one.

I'm not good enough to start doing that, if I was I would set up a face book account, twitter, YouTube, DA, start making forum posts on other sites and link your work there. That's the only way. Where skill meets social media, today that is the only way.

Try posting your work to various groups on DA, if you don't already. In my experience, you won't necessarily pick up a lot of hits that way, but by targeting people who're more likely to be interested in what you're doing, you'll get more favourites and people will follow you more readily.

For straightforward hits, I've also found Reddit is pretty effective. Again, look for relevant subreddits and interact with other people, as well as posting your own stuff.

All you have to do is place a warning before hand.

It helps you out more than you think when you start reaching out to multiple sources

Advertisement companies show no regards for anything outside effectively promoting a product. in other words, do both.

This is creative corner. There are other posts that are on here that dedicate to linking your DA.

If you want go and create a new thread on creative corner, and simply put something simple like this.

Check out my DA page ( some Content may be 18a+ ) Obviously 18a+ is for bellow the belt exposure, and in some cases above. If you play it right you can stay at 14A and still expose a lot, but of course; you can't fully expose.

as far as whats acceptable and what isn't, art can be easily handled, and it is why a lot of people can get away with a lot of things because of it.
