A hashtag currently trending is #GiveElsaaGirlfriend. Despite Disney being a company that is supportive of the LGBTQ community, it has never released a movie where girl meets girl and girl falls in love. Do you see Disney as needing to stay wholesome and family friendly? If so, what is so unwholesome and non-family friendly about a girl that happens to be interested in another girl instead of a guy? Face it, straight romance leads to adult things and it's not like Disney is actually showing steamy bedroom scenes. Kids are aware of the things that lead up to romantic stories, even if they aren't cognizant of what happens behinds closed doors. From a Disney perspective that makes any romantic story, straight or gay, family friendly. There's no reason to be so hush hush about lesbian implications in particular. Same thing goes for two guys falling in love.

People will find a way to complain, no matter the situation.

If they want to go bankrupt and have protesters boycotting them everywhere.

Like that would happen. Disney is a successful large corporation. They could pour $10 Million into a movie, call it "Don't Watch this Movie" and that wouldn't bankrupt them. Protesters and boycotters are their own damn fault, if they don't like the movie don't see it. Fans want Disney to have more LGBT friendly movies, it's just a trend that will make life very boring for bigots since to remain consistent they pretty much need to boycott everything now.

Maybe someday. I don't see it happening too soon. Perhaps in 2023. Disney's 100th year. Perhaps we'll get some sort of crazy revolutionary movie.

Hopefully.

Not a chance. This is DISNEY we're talking about. Anything slightly deviating from their basic template for movies will never happen.

Maybe in another 10-20 years once it becomes more socially acceptable.

The world is progressing (in some areas) so I like to believe anything is possible. I prefer for my family to accept all forms of love with an open mind and heart, so I would be very happy to see this happen. And if it were Disney it would be done in good taste I believe. So I hope so.

Might happen, wouldn't count on it though

I could see it in the future but yeah probably wouldn't do as good in the box office cause there will be those families refusing to take their kids

Someday, maybe someday! if the story is deeper than say Frozen, it might be interesting. The story of some future film could have a gender confused girl or something, who knows.

I don't get it, 13 people commented and most seemed more or less supportive of the idea but there are 9 NO's in the poll and only 3 YES's. Well I guess most everyone who commented picked "Someday" which I count as a YES.
