If trump or hilary get elected, bad things will happen. It's not like things are going great here anyway, but if hilary gets elected I'm for sure losing a lot out of least one of my rights.
Lesser of two evils I guess.

Haha called it early on. At least we have a candidate that is concerned about the economy and not his political legacy. Our economy and trade deals have been shit for decades.

I'll give you props for calling it for Trump. I didn't take him seriously until a couple months ago. Never thought he would actually get the nomination. Still seems absurd to me, but that's politics.

I don't like the guy, and I like the idea of him being president even less. If nothing else it should force the GOP to do some much needed soul searching though.

As somebody who is familiar with the area around Atlantic City, I'm going to just say it:

You're an uninformed moron. Trump RUINED the economy of the area so badly it's not even funny. Trump made a deal with a mob boss to build one of his casinos, try to ILLEGALLY use eminent domain against a little old widow for private gain, held up a badly-needed connector highway between Atlantic City and Brigantine with three years of litigation because it wouldn't end at the doorstep of one of his awful casinos, and finally stuck US with the billions he owed using loopholes in bankruptcy laws concerning his casinos.

Oh, did you know that Trump's management of the casino was both so personally and financially terrible, he was ran off the board of HIS OWN COMPANY?

Seriously, he overspent a 900-million surplus by 2.1 BILLION dollars. That isn't good business management... unless you think Common Core math makes sense.

Most of our so called "conservatives" are not even conservative. They are liberals pretending to be conservatives by picking a few conservative social issues. That's one reason Trump is so popular. The guy is making conservative stands on economic and foreign policy while many of the other candidates avoided that. For republican voters economy and foreign policy are #1

I was more afraid of Cruz than Trump anyhow. Trump is just a blustering moron with no idea what he is doing. Cruz is a reptilian sociopath with a clear plan. Trump is the bumbling self absorbed dictator type. Cruz is the round up and murder your own citizens for failing making a joke about his face type.

This will pretty much be the end of the Republican party at a federal level for a few decades though. The convention itself is still going to be a shit show. Never mind the first debate between him and Hillary, dear lord. Trump has barely held it together through the kindergarten circus of the GOP debates. The contrast of having him on screen rambling next to Hillary will likely boost her support.

Its also important to remember that the primaries are not representative of the general electorate. Which is the biggest risk you face if you act like a complete ass canoe to appeal to the lowest common denominator of one party. Trump may be popular within those who voted in the GOP primaries but thats a different beast than the general. In gaining that popularity he's handing the Democrats *months* worth of ammunition to use again him.

It'll be very hard for him to win the general without women or minorities. Two groups he has piss poor support among for obvious reasons. Even if his rambling leads to an increased voter turn out among mouthbreathers it could also cause an increased voter turn out of people just voting against Trump. Rather than for Hillary.

On the flip side, if BernieBros(tm) ( many of whom I question if they had ever voted before regardless ) stay home out of childish spite they may end up having to thank themselves for President Trump. But that is one benefit to the Democrats. Rallying the party around one candidate is much easier for them compared to the vicious shitshow that is the GOP primary.

Putting Sanders in as VP would lock the party together. But I'm not sure him or Hillary would care for that. Given the state of US political affairs Sanders can likely do more good pushing his message if he remains in the senate. While having him on the ticket with Hillary gives the GOP easy "omigawd socialism!" to stir up fear with the base. Along side the hatred of Hillary they've been relentlessly fermenting for decades.

Idiotic stands, mind you. While surrounding himself with advisers no sane person would hire. Other than that. >.>

As for voter issues, the economy is basically always a top issue on both sides. While the Republican concern with foreign policy is mainly a concern not so much with policy but with terrorism. Likely because their leaders and most of their news sources have been telling them terrorists are out to kill them 24/7 for the last decade.

Interestingly enough, the social wedge issues Republicans usually use aren't big drivers this time around. So a theoretical liberal "pretending" to be conservative by picking a few social issues wouldn't get very far.

I think it's hysterical that someone who spends as much time lying and ignoring reality as Drumpf does is denouncing anyone else as a liar. I mean he isn't wrong but you know that saying about people who live in glass houses.

But glad to know a large swathe of America is throwing it's weight behind a xenophobic Oompa Loompa with shitty hair because of pure frankness and charisma and his ability to tell them precisely what they want to hear despite having no credible plans or means of fulfilling any of his promises. We may very well end up installing the least qualified and least deserving candidate for the head of the free world conceivable.

God fucking help us all if this is the path we're walking down. I mean the GOP just tossed out the guy who used to be the figurehead of their extreme fringe. That anyone can make Ted Cruz seem like a sane, reasonable, less horrible alternative for the presidency terrifies me to no end.

Maybe if we're extremely luck Trump is just doing this like reality tv. Maybe he's just playing the bad guy. I sure hope so but it sure is unlikely. Here's a video on it.
