Can you love them? Yes. Can you be with them? No.

I agree with this statement. I can and do love people I am unable to trust. I must have trusted them at some point or I would never have known them well enough to love them, but a relationship built on lack of trust is doomed.

Yes, despite knowing that you can't trust them you can still love them. Some people are mentally strong enough to manage to get through the illusion that the person one loves is perfect and harmless. Majority of the people though, are too naive to notice such qualities or even question their loved ones.

Depends what kind of love. I don't trust all the people I love. Love is a desire that brings you to better a person with no reward or gain to yourself.

Well sure, but generally if you love someone but don't trust them one or both parties is going to get hurt unless you put up some definite boundaries.

Love in the familial sense? Happens all the time. I have former friends that I still care for to some degree, even if I have no desire to be around them anymore.

How does that work?

It doesn't lol it's a stupid question.....a relationship is based on trust well it should be...if there's no trust then it's just probably for other reasons like lust and other nonsense~

I love people I don't trust.

I'll never trust someone until I get to know them well, yet I know there's multiple types of love. I'll love a stranger enough out of courtesy, and still manage to keep my distance.

Ha! Good one. But yeah, even if it's a friend who's a little shady sometimes you gotta hold the bond simply because they're a person of value. So yes, you can.:)
